Considering how much battery we already I have, I think it’s ridiculous to carry another thing to fail. You could even carry a 120v compressor.

Nope it’s not a dead battery.

I've looked at some 120v units too since there's an outlet right there. I'm mostly concerned about something small and not too heavy.

I carried this pump in my Model Y and when I got the R1S I moved it. It saved me once in the Y. When I tried to use it in the R1S it failed. It would pump for maybe a minute, gaining perhaps 1 lb of pressure, then it would quit. I am assuming that the volume and pressure in the huge Rivian tires is the problem.

Does anyone know of a pump like this that works with a Rivian?

Seems like something is wrong with your pump. The crappy Ryobi one I have works great

I got the Slime 40082 120v inflator for around $80 for my R1T Gen 2. There is only the one 12v outlet in the gear tunnel and it is fairly low amps. You aren't going to connect straight to the 12v battery which is what many of the higher amp 12v inflators require. I looked at adding an ARB (or Vevor) on board air unit but there is the same 12v amp problem. What we do have are multiple 120v outlets.

The Slime unit gets poor reviews but they are almost all regarding the hose and chuck. It comes shipped with the hose detached. I got a Schrader to 1/4" NPT fitting (male-male) and put a regular female quick release air fitting on the end of the whip from the unit. Then a regular air hose and chuck. The unit fits nicely in the rear under seat storage compartment. It is fairly quiet and has worked well. So far I have not inflated a tire from flat but did inflate all my tires from 33 to 49 psi and it worked fine.

...Why not...? It's super easy to get to at least on gen 1 and provides the needed power. Is gen 2 really hard to get to?

The m18 inflator is hands down the best battery operated pump you can get.

I use Ryobi powertools. I bought one of their inflators. The one I bought isn't sold anymore, but this new one is apparently for high pressure tires: https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-O..._-327406129-_-4-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a-_-n/a.
And it looks like a pretty good value right now as it includes the battery and one of their better chargers. Nice an compact as well.

My son has the older trigger controlled inflator which works well but it can be tedious having the hold the trigger the whole time you are inflating the tire.
