I searched around, but maybe I missed it. Is there a privacy mode for the phone when on a call? I like to use this mode in other vehicles when on roadtrips with the family because it let's me use my plantronics headset for work calls without having the entire meeting going through the speakers for the whole family. Some vehicles are really difficult about it (Ford Escape we have) and it will fight you constantly for the call.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, for right now, there is only two options that way - change your audio device on your phone app to connect to your headset as needed.

The other option is to disable bluetooth in the R1 and your phone should switch to your next preferred.

Headset and headphone use is also illegal In most west coast states, and some Midwest ones too, while driving.

Not arguing... but does that also include the single ear bluetooth type? I see those all the time that keep one ear free to hear emergency vehicles.

This is California another States may vary but it looks like you might be okay with one ear in California. A set or airpods would be a no go

A person operating a motor vehicle or bicycle may not wear a headset covering, or earplugs in, both ears. This prohibition does not apply to any of the following:

(a) A person operating authorized emergency vehicles, as defined in Section 165

Taking work calls on roadtrips with family?

Yea, well a lot of times I just need to listen to a meeting or something that doesn't require a lot of engagement or notes and every little bit saves the PTO and/or coming back to an S storm.
