had the problem last night traveling ...ambient temp about 36 but battery at 78 as I had been driving for 2 hours at that point. failed to charge at 180kW charger...moved to Electrify America same issue....after hard reset it charged....assume its a software issue as reset wouldn't resolve a hardware problem...hmmmmmmm

There are reported AC charging problems that have fixes coming in .46 but I don't think any DC charging problems reported.

These stories are very interesting. In central CT, we're in a really hard freeze with single digits lows and 20s for highs. I came into work this morning with 90 miles left of range after the truck sitting in the driveway since Saturday. No issues at all connecting to L2 charger here at work garage but was only pulling 7kw on a 9.5 kw charger for a half hour or so. The battery was in the low 20s and must have warmed a bit and now pulling the max from that EVSE. For context, stormbreaker is Gen1 dual motor/large pack.

These vehicles sure do have a learning curve!

Sharing here since this was the first thread I originally found when I started experiencing issues 3 weeks ago with a new 2026 R1S.

This is definitely not "stories" and it's legit - happened to me and the workaround proposed in the other thread worked: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/...ng-issue-being-resolved-in-next-update.53852/

Long-short, I have to precondition my battery to 60+F to get it to charge using L2 AC charger successfully. Even on 2025.46.30

Totally ruins attempt to have time-of-day charging midnight-6am.
