I have had this happen when I lean out the driver window too far.

That is not at “feature”. Either there is something wrong with your vehicle or you are lifting yourself out of your seat to adjust your position (even slightly) and the vehicle thinks there is no driver so shifts to Park.My R1S frequently shifted to park automatically during red light waits. The screen also show a message saying it is automatically parked. Sometimes, the auto park happened within 10 seconds of the wait.
Does anyway else find this feature annoying? I have to shift it to drive again during the wait. I once forgot to shift and couldn’t have the car moving quickly. The cars behind me were mad.
Is there anyway to disable the feature. I couldn’t find how.
Pull on the door handle twice. It is required as a safety measure you be able to get out of the car in almost any situation so they wouldn't prevent you from doing so.My door will not open if I'm in D or Fwd.
Oh, I did not know that. I wonder if it will do that in Neutral? If so, will it use the Hold mode? My friend had his BMW EV roll away and cause immense loss. I told him my R1T would not let that happen. It is so easy to use the shifter to P that I will not take chances. I hope the smart car will sense no weight in the driver's seat and go into at least Hold or park.Pull on the door handle twice. This may be exactly the problem I have. I also have a pillow at the back of the seat to make my back support better. Have you found a solution to the situation for your wife?I had this situation several months ago when my wife would drive the car. To make the seat more comfortable for her we had a seat insert to support her back. But it lifted her off the seat sensors to measure the size and weight of the driver. The Riv shifted into park, sensing a person too small to drive was in the seat.
