My R1S is chiming every 20 seconds. Is this an indication of a larger problem? Should I be concerned and how do I stop it?

Do you have your phone connected via Bluetooth and on the horrible wireless charging pad? Every time the phone shifts position and stops/starts charging it will chime via Bluetooth over the speakers.

When that happened to me, it was Alexa giving me excessive alerts. I reconnected Alexa and didn’t have the problem again.

Mine was the camp speaker, I was on the highway and couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was causing it. Charged it and now I’ll wait till it dies again to charge it again. I thought the truck should charge it. Guess not.

Nope. This happened once before and it just went away after charging overnight.
Its a mystery.

That makes sense. I’ll give it a try.
Thank you.

I’ve charged the camp speaker and the R1S. The chiming is gone, but I’m left to wonder which was the solution; the camp speaker, or just putting Vivian the Rivian to sleep?
Thank you all very much.

I’ve had this happen a couple times. Both times it was the call speaker. Had to reset it.

As it happens, it appears to have been the camp speaker. Once I removed it to charge indoors, the chiming stopped. I’m really surprised that the speaker doesn’t charge in its cradle in the vehicle.
Oh well, alls well that ends well. Thanks for the input.

It def Should charge in its cradle. I’d double check that

When this happened to me service told to remove the speaker from the vehicle and the chime stopped. The mobile service tech came out and replaced the camp speaker. It seems to be a recurring problem since so many have reported here. I believe the speaker is supposed to charge. My guess is the charging cradle is affected by constant jostling and losing its ability to charge in some cases. I was not offered the option to charge the speaker outside the vehicle but that is what I will do if the problem reappears.

I went through this yesterday. It’s an infuriating chime because there is no notification where it is coming from. I found my camp speaker being the cause and turned it off. Mind you it lives in its charger station so I suspect it may have gotten unlocked. Disconnecting and slamming back in solved the problem

I agree. This seems to have been the case for me as well. If it happens again, I’ll just yank the speaker out permanently. I wasn’t really impressed with the sound quality anyway. We have several Bose kettle speakers for the purpose that the camp speaker is supposed to serve.
