The Royal R1S is getting a field trip on the back of a truck to Chicago. Probably the AC charging module or something like that. As previously reported, L1 and L2 charging is FUBAR. SOC is too low to make it to try DCFC due to The Count's distance from Michigan.
No ticket was opened until the fourth call with service rep. The service rep has been extremely professional and responsive. There was also no long hold to get through (unlike past experiences when calling). The rep did make it clear that if the issue is something covered by the warranty, Rivian will cover the tow; if not The Count will incur an unknown towing expense. The Count's research suggests a round-trip tow across state lines to be about $2,200 unless Rivian has a deal with some carriers.
Saddest part is The Count and Countess were looking forward to taking the R1S to pick up their Royal Grenadier s00n. Now The Count will need to schedule an appointment with the chiropractor as they will probably convey to Lake Bluff in The Countess' 911.
In the meantime, as you probably heard, the heatpumps/splits are being installed in the Royal Workshop next week.
