R1S guide contact?

I did not lock on the phone (wanted one final verify before I did on wheel selection), but emailed guide on 4/14 and he confirmed it locked later that day. We're RB exterior, OC interior, 20" AT wheels and the skid/tow hook package.

Also, I was told most of the non-build options (mats, roof rack, etc) all get shipped to you, they aren't installed at the factory. So they shouldn't hold up anything on your build.

I see, good to know your config was not locking as mine. Btw I have the same config as you but you are a step ahead with PBA. Congrats!

I spoke with my guide, Susan N., on Tuesday. She was very nice and knowledgable about the process. She confirmed my configuration and said they are building them now. Of note, the purchase agreement that sets off he 8 stage steps is sent after they have your VIN. So when you get that email you are really close to getting your vehicle. I asked if there was any delays due to my config and she said no. The goal for R1S customers being contacted was to have us in our vehicles in 6-10 weeks or less from first contact. Fingers crossed!

So by the end of the year then....

Figured this thread was a decent place to post this.

I took the drawing from the Rivian website, and using a blueprint program I use, was able to scale it out and in conjunction with other photos/videos, get an idea of where seating was roughly located according to B and C pillars.

Not the greatest work I've done by any means, but gives you all an idea of space available with seats down etc. until our Rivian peeps release some information.

Congrats! After you signed your PBA, did any of the 8 steps open up to you on your online portal, or did you get a VIN assigned?

Nothing open on the portal (but it does now show that my configuration is locked).I was advised the PBA gets you the build slot, but the remaining steps only open up after the vehicle is built and is going through quality assurance. So there's a few week, at a minimum, lag between the two.

Curious, is the BPA something both parties need to sign / execute? So when the buyer signs it, is there a counter-signature from Rivian with a fully-executed document sent back to buyer?

@Tenmile, have you signed and submitted a PBA - or just received the document. What's that status of your PBA I guess?

It's single signatory (buyer), pre-populated with your build configuration and pricing. No counter sign from Rivian. As soon as you sign (as I have), you get a completed version available for your records.

He also told me that he has seen an Ocean Coast interior on the line (on an R1T) recently.

My guide told me 15 minutes ago that no Ocean Coast interiors have been made, although some Forest Edge have been. He is in Normal.

Spoke to my guide today. I had very low expectations so everything went as expected. He’s new to Rivian and knew very little about what pre-order reservation holders have been through with comms and delays in the past couple of years.

He all but confirmed that the info he had was a Q&A script he read from which gets updated ~ once a week. He said they are expecting an update to their script re: Ocean Coast and Forest edge interior this week announcing some kind of delay and options to switch to black mountain to speed up delivery.

I asked him since we are local to HQ in Orange County if we could at least get a home test drive of the R1T (we have a R1S reservation) and he said he thinks he can get that scheduled in the next 2 weeks.

No other information gained. I felt like I could spend an hour+ on the phone with him giving him a company overview & orientation which he seemed to be lacking.

I got that today too after talking with my guide, but that was for my R1T (yes I switched to the R1T lol). I don't think that's the 8-step PBA they're talking about though. I think that's just locking in your configuration, and then you sign it to confirm what you talked about with your guide.

Unrelated, but I should receive my truck with week or early next! I'm so excited!
