what does your heart tell you?

my gut, and memory, tells me they dont say anything about delays until after the the window is over or a customers asks them and they get told.
you'd think they would release more details (manual, pictures, specs) about the R1S before starting deliveries to non-employee customers. which could mean a few things.

a. they are not going to hit the march/april windows, because logically it doesn't make sense to deliver vehicles that owners don't know the details about. unless they assume were so desperate we will take them regardless
b. they decided they don't need to spend time delivering them to employees first to "work out the kinks" like they did for the R1T. which means us R1S owners could get a less tested product. i know... they are similar enough vehicles that it may not matter but they are still different.
c. they don't think R1S customers care that we don't get a first mile event, get to see the colors on the vehicles, test drive, etc. i dont know how most of you feel, but i do care and i think that's pretty poor customer service to put R1S owners as second class.
I think they are either slipping or they have some in the hands of reviewers and will share the details when the review embargo expires.

FWIW, I was invited to test drive an R1T and that was enough for me. I’d be more than happy to take delivery of an R1S asap.

FWIW, I was invited to test drive an R1T and that was enough for me. I’d be more than happy to take delivery of an R1S asap.
to each his own.

but i prefer to take delivery after i get more info on the vehicle, get to test drive it and see some of the colors on the R1S (since im not sure yet which color i want) and willing to wait a bit longer.

FWIW, I’ve see the colors in person. Rivian Blue is pure ???.

I’m going to keep my positivity hat on and say we should see these R1Ss start rolling out mid to late May and see a flurry in June/July like we are seeing on the R1T now.

Hoping the guy that did the drone over the plant can do a couple of updated videos between now and then just for fun.

Just like buying a lottery ticket, you can dream as long as the time has not come. ?
They're coming, be patient man.

We need more drone shots! At least once a week so we can get a feel for the plant’s output of colors and R1S’s. I just need another hit man… just one little one… I’m withdrawing over here. ?

Agreed. Saw it at the Seattle preview in 2019. Apparently it’s first public appearance. My wife and I were instantly sold!

All this excitement caused me to reach out to CS just now and inquire about my R1S reservation status. Here's what I was told:
  • "Oh, you're about to get contacted" - she sounded genuinely surprised at what she was seeing
  • Said I should hear any day this week or maybe next week. - my Guide hasn't been assigned yet "in the system"
  • Told me if I didn't hear this week I should call back and maybe then my guide would be assigned and they could provide contact info
  • Confirmed they are on track with March / April delivery time
    • "we're really ramping up production and I see the trucks being loaded on carriers every day"
  • I asked if I could change my tire selection - "It might impact your delivery timing by a few weeks"
So, that's where they say I stand as of now. fingers crossed.

Preorder Nov'18 - #1813 - LG R1S OC Int (R1S the entire time) - No Guide Contact (yet)

Same story here. I was at that event and knew that was our color as soon as I saw the truck.
I actually didn't know they had the RJ Rivian Blue outside until RJ himself brought me out there to see it. I assumed they only had the same LA Silver R1T and Forest Green R1S downstairs that they had at the NYC event. Same as you all, I was sold the second I saw it under that canopy.:involve:
