R1S heated rear seats

I could not find this discussion. I had a test drive today in an R1S Launch Edition. It had heated middle seats and vents for the 2 rear seats in the window pillars. It was my understanding that Rivian had done away with the heated middle 3 seats as well as the rear vents. The guy at the service center said the heated middle seats and rear vents are still features in all R1S. So anyone who has an R1S, that is not a Launch Edition, would you please clarify the heated seat issue for me?

I have never heard mention of any such deletions. In fact, Rivian just relatively recently released software allowing the 3rd row vents to be manually operated from the dash touch screen (originally they would only turn on if the 3rd row seatbelt was fastened which was not good for us dog owners).

Only outboard middle seats are heated. Not the middle seat and not the 3rd row. But the 3rd row does have vents in the pillars.

As far as I know they are both included in current builds. Mine has them and was built in March.

If I had to guess the confusion comes from the fact you have the middle row and middle seat. The Middle seat in the middle row I don't think was ever heated and I'm not sure if any vehicles that have a bench seat heat the middle (most have captains chairs). I can't imagine they would get rid of vents as those are needed in such a large vehicle to keep the passengers comfortable.

I will say if they get rid of the middle row outboard heated seats or the vents I would probably cancel my order. The only request my kids had was heated seats which I think is key in an electric car when it is cold outside so you don't have to turn the heat up as much.

All 7 seats in the 7-seat Tesla Model X are heated. Even in the much the 3/Y the middle seat in the 2nd row is heated.

Hey all - I wanted to write a post given this thread is heavily referenced elsewhere including Microsoft Co Pilot!! The R1S with Adventure Trim (the only trim at time of writing) does have heated seats in the 2nd row (excluding middle seat). Confirmed during a test drive and with customer services.

Only the 1st row is ventilated. Other brands like KIA EV9 have ventilated 2nd row as well.
