I'd appreciate some feedback on if it's worth asking for any of these things to be looked at. My R1S has developed a rattle around the rear passenger's door and I"m on the fence about mentioning these things while the service center has it - I don't want to come off as super nitpicky.

Roof bump - how much 'bump' is typical? The service center looked at the bump once before and stated it was normal. It still strikes me as rather odd, especially as I've never seen this on another vehicle. Worth raising again?

Mark on dash - looks like some dirt, but won't wipe off. There's no indent or scoring where the mark is, just discoloration.

Door paint chips - on the edge and inside the driver's door, there are a few spots where the paint has chipped off. The obvious explanation would be opening the door into something, but I've been extremely careful to avoid that and don't recall it happening. Additionally, the spot is higher up on the door and there is some chipping on the inside of the door as well.

Door flushness - the passenger rear door sticks out a bit past the front door. In comparison, the doors on the driver's side are very flush.

Hood alignment - there's some gap/misalignment between the hood and the body on the passenger's side. The driver's side is well aligned.

Small pings in rear body panel - noticed a few small pings in the panel right before the trunk on the driver's side. Hard to catch on camera due to the curve of the panel.

I'd appreciate any perspective on if mentioning any of these things is worth it.

I think door paint chip and hood alignment should get fixed. Others look rather minor.
My R1S also has some rattling in rear driver door, and squeaky suspension. I tried to tolerate them but still decided to get an appointment for SC to look at it.

That is a personal thing, how comfortable are you with it?

Most of what you listed I would look at myself, I figure I would do as good if not better job as the tech and would not be without the vehicle for them to look at it.

When it got hot out in the desert this summer my front passenger door expanded in the heat, would contact the fender ever so slightly when opened. I just wrapped some duct type around a flat crowbar and slightly reshaped the fender and door for clearance then touched up the chip with the paint pen I purchased. I also had a piece of exterior trim come loose on the rear driver side door that I glued back down.

I waffled back a fourth on should I open tickets for them but just figured not worth my time to take it in. The fixes took me about 15 minutes each and I’m fine with the results.

Edit: Here are the pictures of my two fixes listed above.

If it’s bugging you then you should mention it, regardless of whether it would bug someone else. The worst thing that can happen is they say it’s “within spec” and won’t address it.

It's a new very expensive vehicle. If you are unhappy with the issues you are seeing, book a service appointment to get addressed. They will always bother you and after one year, NVH issues will not be covered under warranty.

I have a rattle from the driver door since I picked up my R1s. Mobile service tried to isolate and fix it but failed.
finally having sc schedule an appointment to replace the complete door panel (interior). I also have some paint issues and submitted a ticket for sc to look into it the same time they fix the rattle.
here are my paint issues. Unsure if they’ll fix it but worth a try since I will be dropping the vehicle off at sc anyway.

Personally i do not think it is nitpicking. The way i look at it is Rivian should want to know about and address the issues. It helps them in the long run because it’s all about continuous product improvements and customer satisfaction.

I had a very tiny mark on the passenger front seat when i got my R1S and pointed it out to the Brooklyn service center and they replaced the seat.

Definitely not nitpicking. When in doubt, file a service request. That at least logs there is an issue. After that, you can decide if you want to take it in or not. I filed one on my first day with a door alignment. Then kept filing as I found other things, and there were just added to my appointment. Some of them they took care of, others they said were in spec. But at least it's on the record if there are other problems.

And as someone else said, we just paid a ton of money for this car, expecting it to be worth that amount of money is not nitpicking. ;)

Welcome to the club! Had an early build R1T and it wasn’t cosmetically flawed much at all but it wasn’t mechanically refined. Have the R1S now and it’s more mechanically refined but more cosmetically flawed. It’s like they were a less experienced car maker but took their time in the beginning, now they have the hang of it and are building too fast and neglecting the small details.
I would say mention everything! You’d be surprised what they actually address…and what they decide to avoid fixing.

I appreciate all the responses, sounds like flagging everything is the best bet.

Out of curiosity, has anyone who's R1S had a roof bump, squeaky suspension, or an occasional clunk when slowing to a stop/starting from a stop had any of these things fixed? I've heard discussion about each of these things, but not much about getting them resolved. I'll certainly flag them to the service center regardless.
