R1S Rear door length vs R1T?

It's going to be easier for passengers to get into the R1S. Reviewers have complained that the gear tunnel makes entry in the rear of the R1T more difficult.

At this point they could place iron bars in the windows....we'll find a way to get into the truck

I was just wondering about this yesterday and took this screenshot. It certainly looks like everything is identical up to the point of the end of the driver's door. Then it looks like the passenger door is two or three inches longer.

It also makes me wonder about legroom.

^^ That does look pretty accurate. The length difference between the R1T and R1T is supposedly ~17 inches. That's significant.

I wonder if the width is any different. It almost seems like the R1T rear fenders flare out more.

It looks like the top of the rear doors is about the same length but the bottom of the R1S door will definitely be longer.

Didn't someone on one of the thread note that CS said 2nd row DOES NOT slide forward.

I know that sounds silly not to given the 3rd row but we are talking about Rivian....

Yes and others said that CS said the 2nd row does slide forward. So, in conclusion, the second row may or may not slide forward. (Personally, I think it does slide forward.)

It definitely slides. I've seen it How much... I don't know.

Per CS chat, she confirmed second row does slide fore/aft on the 60/40 split, which is why it's advertised as a 60/40 bench despite being able to fold down 40/20/40.

Also, 2nd row itself is the same in both. Obviously door cutouts are different and everything behind row 2 is very different.

Yes that was me. I had a guide call where I was explicitly told it does not slide forward. I was surprised by that so I asked 2x more during the course of the conversation and confirmed at the end of the call. Could be that she saw in a pre-prod prototype? Not sure, but that's great news that others are hearing that it does slide! That would be a big relief for third row access. Without it, there'd be no chance of anyone getting back there on a routine basis.
