R1S Slow to Wake Up When Locked

I don't know if this is related to the 2023.34.0 update or not, but both my wife and I have noticed that Rosey doesn't wake up until we're right next to her. It just started in the last couple of days. She used to wake up when we were 15-20 feet away, and now the handles don't pop out until we stand right next to the driver's door for a few seconds. We both use our iPhones as keys (my wife has a 14 Pro and I have an X). At first she thought it was because she closed the Rivian app on her phone, but I'm having the same issue and never bother to close apps so I know it's running. Tonight she had the app running in foreground on her phone and it still didn't wake up until she was right next to her. This is happening when we are out - at home it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I have the same issue with my R1T, at home it's fine on the road it's that same issue.

I have the exact opposite issue... I can now open my truck from 30+ ft away in 2-3s seconds with a single press of the Fob even if the truck has been siting for 24+ hrs.

Sounds great right? Um, not great as my vampire drain has gone from 0.5kWh/day pre-update to 1.7kWh drain post update

I'm guessing my truck is not going to sleep as it should after the last update changed something.

Knock knock...That's the sound of me knocking on wood because this is really the first issue we've had with our S. Do we report it as an issue to our Guide? I'm grateful because, from everything we've seen, our S doesn't have any of the issues I've seen others report. We'd love to see this resolved, and now that I know it's not just us (or our phones), I'm thinking we report it in the app.

I have the app set to "always on" and when my screen on my phone goes to the lockscreen, it won't open quickly. If the phone is open, it opens from 10 to 15 feet away without issue. I am also running the latest version of the software.

Make sure your iPhone/Android app is up to date. I have a iPhone 14Pro running iOS 17.0.2

Thanks - we keep our phones updated but it never mattered before if the phone was locked or unlocked. I could walk towards the S with my phone in my pocket and when I got within 20 feet or so the handles popped out.

I believe there was a change in the last OTA update - probably, as others have explained, to further reduce vampire drain. As Zoidz said, I'd gladly exchange 1-2 miles of range a day for this functionality to work like it did before. Give us yet another option: "Allow longer range proximity unlocking" and explain the cost of choosing that option.

That would be nice. It would also be nice to shut it off at home. When I take the dog out to do his business, I have my phone with me and the truck opens...and then I walk away and it closes, and then when I walk back it opens again. There is the option for the MOTION CAM to shut off while at home.

I do agree it would be a nice option to adjust the proximity sensitivity but that might open up a can of worms.
