I guess that this is actually new and clarified … “Much like we did with the R1T, we are focusing much of the early R1S production on employee deliveries to ensure the best possible ownership experience for everyone from day one.” Confirms that employee deliveries are first, and I’m all good with that. I don’t have the time to debug the vehicle for them!

You will be anyway. Wait 2-3 years if you're not up for that.

Only thing I found positive is it pretty much does say there will be new R1S windows in 2022. The last email made that seem very unlikely.

Lol…we’ll update you on the fact we don’t have an update. Also look for a real update in two weeks.

I get first and second product launches are hard, but still a little funny how they keep having communication challenges in addition to the product ones. I guess sort of hand in hand.

whether my June/July window is still happening or pushed to 2023, at this point is seemingly 50/50…oh well. At this point why even bother with dates lol. Just forget you ordered a car and be surprised one day!

FWIW I received the “non-update” update as well a few minutes ago

10/6/2019 preorder, previously had an Oct-Dec 2022 delivery window, not sure what to expect now.

i’m sure that will be the case. The early builds will definitely have more quality issues, I dealt with plenty of those on my model S.

People are completely glossing over the fact that this email confirms there will still be R1S customers with 2022 delivery windows. Only a portion are being moved to 2023, not everyone.

Do you really believe that after all th mistakes and missteps…?

So this is for R1S pre orders? I've received nothing so far

I believe it's only directed at R1S res holders.. but it's coming from Rivian so nothing is 100% sure.
