Edmunds does a U-Drags series which is a good test of vehicle performance. Here is the R1T vs Raptor R. I do not think the results will surprise anyone here, but fun to watch. To me, the video just reinforces how impressive the R1s are.

I’m all for embarrassing ICE trucks with a Rivian, but that was not a fair fight. Watching that Raptor almost go into a death wobble before the turnaround was scary.

Yeah I'm not so sure their belief that the Rapter would win offroad is correct. The assumption may be that since the Rivian in Sport Mode is so well tuned that it can't also be well tuned for offroad. I think they'd be pretty surprised after going full send in the Rivian offroad after driving on a track.

With all the talk about the R1T’s 7000 pound weight, I didn’t realize the Raptor R was 6000. I knew vehicles were getting heavier across the board, but I didn’t realize Rivian isn’t THAT much heavier than the competition.

Weird that its a recent video, but the OS looks like a pretty old version. Do they not update their fleet vehicles?

My 2023 R1T weighs about 7,200#. That is not very much lighter than my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax which in at 7,800#. The Silverado is a much larger, beefier looking truck, but only weighs 600# more than the R1T.

As a Lotus enthusiast, I often think about Colin Chapman's quote "Adding horsepower makes you faster in the straights. Removing weight makes you faster everywhere."

Mr. Chapman was not wrong, but the fact that the R1T does what it does just speaks to the engineering behind it.

Ummmm.. You know the R1T has a higher payload and towing capacities than both Raptors and also won the Rebelle Rally, right??? You know. Truck Stuff.

If consumers would be able to order a Raptor R at Ford.com for MSRP - I would be in a Raptor..

Back in 2021 and 2022, I tried hard to actually get a Raptor (V6) and called about 100 dealers across the country.. None of the multiple MSRP orders that I had over the span of 18 month ever went through - of course not, because the stealerships would only actually sell well over MSRP..
