Dumb question, but is everyone going to pay the $875 to get the compact spare Tire? It does not have run flat tires on the 21 inch wheels

I'm getting a tire repair kit. I've only had one complete blow out in the past six years and even that AAA was able to get me taken care of.

I skipped the spare. I have not gotten a flat in over a decade (granted that has all been on-road driving). I don't anticipate any aggressive off-roading in my R2, so I think my chances of a flat are still pretty slim.
I'd much rather keep the sub-trunk space and lose the extra weight than have a spare I will probably never need.

There is an option to use the Tire Mobility Kit for minor punctures, if that is your primary concern. The car in the Austin showroom has this kit (and there is a molded spot in the sub trunk for it), so I wonder if it will be included?

In my demo I had yesterday, that kit (air compressor and the can of goo) is supplied. In the trunk area lift up both boards and it’s there right behind the rear seat.

I’m also forgoing the spare. It was the 90’s that last time I needed a spare. I am getting a repair kit, the kind that looks like little rubber screws.

Great replies. I will also forgo the spare. Are you guys getting the Rivian charger? We have an Emporia one for my wife’s Genesis. I can Save $375.

As someone who has had a blowout away from city convenience and has used a spare and didn’t have to wait 3 hours for AAA or whatever roadside service on the side of a highway, I am purchasing this.

Yeah I’ll get it and feel better about myself even if I never need it.

You are in CO, so you could get all of the charger stuff for free, and then sell it at a discounted rate to somebody in a state that cannot get the charger accessories for free.

I'll buy the charger and adapters from you lol.

Were you asking about the mobile charger or the wall-mounted charger though? The mobile one is a little more expensive than other brands, but if you ever have issues at least Rivian won't be able to point fingers at someone else's equipment. The wall charger is almost 2x the price of competitors though, so when I add a permanent home charger I will be looking elsewhere.
