I’m all for heat pumps, I have one for my heat in Colorado. But I don’t think it’s going to make a huge difference in a car the size of the R2 let alone an R1.

Why? Does it not work as well for larger cars?I’m all for heat pumps, I have one for my heat in Colorado. But I don’t think it’s going to make a huge difference in a car the size of the R2 let alone an R1.
Works really well. But the % of battery used for heat is less than a smaller car. So you’ll see a bigger improvement in a car with a smaller battery. Why? Does it not work as well for larger cars?

I have a little mobile heat pump plugged in.Am I the only one plugging a space heater in the center console platform area?
I also run a dehumidifier in the back seat for those dewy mornings.I have a little mobile heat pump plugged in.
I'm thinking about putting a sail up in the cabin in front of my heat pump as well to help with range a bit.I also run a dehumidifier in the back seat for those dewy mornings.
And I've got to have my snow cone machine...I also run a dehumidifier in the back seat for those dewy mornings.
Have you considered a pellet stove?I'm thinking about putting a sail up in the cabin in front of my heat pump as well to help with range a bit.
You are probably thinking of this video:I can't find the video now, but an EV focused YouTube channel (I thought it was Out of Spec, but I can't find it there) did a comparison of a car with a heat pump vs. the same model without (VW ID.4 if my memory is correct, although since I had the channel wrong, that might not be it.)
IIRC, I was about 8% difference. Or about 25 miles range loss from a full charge.
I'm in agreement with and have the same use case.Through two winters, admittedly in not-so-snowy Alabama, my R1T has performed exceptionally well compared to the huge range decrease I experienced in my Mach E. For my use I'm a solid "meh" on the whole heat pump thing.
