When did they say that? They haven't said much at all regarding R3.Possible but Rivian thus far have said they aren't doing it
Gotta say that, even though I love the brand, car manufacturing under a tent doesn’t sound good. I understand though and I know that there are a lot of very smart people at Rivian so I trust their judgement ?Drove by the plant on the way for kid's sporting stuff. There is now a LARGE long white tent on the north side of the building that wasn't there a month ago when I last drove by. PURE speculation, but guessing lots of interesting things going on under the tent.
Also saw a higher proportion of R1's along with EDVs in the rail lot so good to see units are still getting shipped out from sales.
I don't think they can afford to do it, honestly. I think they need the GA factory to be able to produce the R3 vehicles to have any chance at doing it profitably, at the price point people are anticipating. When did they say that? They haven't said much at all regarding R3.
That is what I’m hoping for. It should expedite production which seems to be very important. There is plenty of room for growth (not the same amount of the Georgia area) and won't be at all surprised if they at least start R3 stuff in Normal. Lots of open farm land around the current plant although I'm guessing the land costs more than Georgia.
Yep Rivian will expedite production. For the R2. No reason to make the R3 in Illinois. It will be in the new plant. That is what I’m hoping for. It should expedite production which seems to be very important.
