I suspect Scout will be killing their BEV-only vehicles too, based on the ratio of Harvester to BEV reservations.

The range extender is better suited to a truck’s use and purpose, makes sense to me.

Except the towing capacity is like half. 800V and 150KWh for R1T/R1S 2.0 would make me forget about range extenders really quick.

Half of what? The Ramcharger (now REV I guess?) was advertised as up to 14000lbs which is typical of modern half ton trucks. Reality is that they can only legally tow that with a single occupant without exceeding payload ratings but it sounds good in brochures.

I should have clarified that I was piggybacking on the Scout Harvester mention.

Kind of a bummer but the ramcharger fit the brand better anyways. I’m looking forward to seeing what that technology can do.

EV towing at distance or longer road trips still suck and until charging doesn’t 30-45 minutes and charging stations are not as sparse there’s a good market for it.

Stellantis got its ass handed to it on its two EVs. People didn't buy the charger or the Jeep EV at all. It doesn't help that they were both mediocre EVs. It's the same thing with the concept vs what they planned on actually making. The concept was cool enough that i'd have evaluated it over my Rivian, but the reality was basically a standard pickup skin with no real taking advantage of the EV aspect.

“The 2026 Ram 1500 Ramcharger has a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of 14,000 pounds and a maximum payload of 2,625 pounds.”

The maximum towing capacity for the Rivian R1T is 11,000 pounds, though this is only available on specific configurations, namely the Max Pack and certain Quad-Motor models. Some lower-trim, dual-motor R1T models have a reduced towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. When towing, expect significantly reduced driving range due to the increased power consumption. “
