I hope it's open - my wife is taking our R1S from Lancaster to Pittsburgh today (235 miles) and is planning to stop in Breezewood in a couple hours to charge for 20-30 minutes. I'll update PlugShare when she does (or doesn't). The app "required" her to stop there for 33 minutes.
It's a little strange quoting myself, but the Breezewood RAN station is indeed open, even if only 2/5 chargers are online:
Rivian R1T R1S RAN Rivian Charging Stations Locations Map via Google Maps Breezewood_RAN_Station

This was our first experience with a L3 charger - it was charging at 311 MPH until it reached 80% and then it dropped to 108 MPH (so she stopped charging and got back on her way). My wife was impressed and is looking forward to stopping there again on the way home. I'd forgotten, since she had the RAN charger as her destination, to warn her about the battery pre-conditioning and how it would impact her range. She described it as looking like the battery had a leak because when the pre-conditioning started the percentage began dropping very quickly.

The app said there were 6 fast chargers at that location - the photo clearly shows 7 chargers (5 fast and two other). I'll update PlugShare next.

There is no problem going below 20% in modern EVs. You can easily go to 5% as long as you are going to charge once you get down that low.

The biggest key if you/she is concerned about running low is just to slow down 5+ mph at a time from your normal driving. Your consumption will drop and your efficiency will rise.
Thanks to you and to WorldComposting for the advice about going below 20%. Over Thanksgiving we'll be driving up the dreaded NJ Turnpike from Philly to NYC and then another 36 miles to my in-laws, and I'm REALLY hoping to do it without having to charge on the way (214 miles total). My in-laws installed a L2 charger at their house for us so I know we have juice when we get there. 1st world problems ;)

You will make that easily. If concerned just drive moderately. As well when you are stuck in slower traffic and even with some stop-n-go you will have great efficiency. It seems the opposite but don't sweat it in those situations. Your "adaptive cruise control" will just keep it simple and safe for you and your family. Great in-laws for installing the L2!

I'm not familiar with this location but most likely the trailer friendly spot is somewhere else nearby. From this Reddit photo it looks like it's by some gas pumps.

The other two are L2 Waypoint chargers, anyone can use those.

Thanks for the assurances - I feel that we will make it without issue as well. Now my biggest stress is where to park in NYC while we see a show. My in-laws figured that their next car will be an EV so they were going to need a charger in the next year or two anyway - may as well do it now to make it easier for us. There's a Tesla MagicDock charging station in Brewster NY (about 12 miles away from them) that we had planned to use, but now we don't need it.

Buttonwood update: Nearby construction did damage to the charger foundation, so it will be a while.

Glad the trip was a success!

I'm driving from Baltimore, MD to Saratoga Springs, NY in a couple weeks and I'll be charging at home to 100% then charging when between 5-30% depending on traffic. From my location I should be able to get up to Newburgh, NY. Although I might stop off and see the Rivian charger in Newark, DE. On the way back I will only charge in Newburgh to give myself enough range to reach Rivian charger in DE with 10% to spare.

No reason to baby the battery on long trips. Just baby it when you are driving normally during the week!

It does feel like the install time itself is improving a little. A lot of those earlier stations had the initial construction of conduit and concrete pads done LONG before the actual charging equipment showed up. Seems like the charging equipment is showing up much faster after that base construction. That's a good sign that they're starting to work through any part shortages or build issues in Normal.

RJ made one of the more aggressive comments I've ever heard about the RAN at the CODE conference. He didn't just say it was important to customer experience quality. They fully expect the RAN to be profitable itself. He also said he expects Rivian to be one of the 3-4 "primary or dominant networks" over the next 5 years.

@Isaiah Louis

App and web don’t show it as open, so it’s not official yet. No plugin checkins either.

Thanks, the Rivian charging website is sometimes days behind the app so just making sure.
