UPDATE: Mobile tech dispatched today. He found coolant level below the minimum mark which will cause an air pocket in the module that cools the electronics, including the screens. Has to go to a service center. Data point: vehicle is 3.5 yrs old with 53K miles... never had a coolant service. Still under warranty.

ORIGINAL POST:
Since the latest OTA update (2026.3.0), my Gen1 R1T has repeatedly restarted while underway.... appears to be random about once every 7-10 days. Both screens go black, D+ disengages, but vehicle remains operable. Anyone have recent experience with this? I have a service ticket initiated but awaiting a call back.

Coming up on 3 years of ownership, I've only experienced twice. Both times after one of the previous OTAs, not current one. Others have reported similar with various other updates. Try a manual hard reset and see if it continues. If it does, report it to Rivian Support or through "share feedback" in mobile app.. Additionally, assuming it still works, press & hold your name in center display captures vehicle log. If you do this after one such incident, then notify support, they would have a easier time in their investigation.

I've had it happen a couple of times. I don't remember if it was in relation to an update. Screens went black except for the speed, then it all came back fine. The first time was quite surprising.

My Gen 1 R1S was resetting about 20 minutes into each drive. Multiple infotainment resets did nothing. A hard reset worked (so far).

This happened to me last weekend as well. Reboot was pretty quick, but was still unnerving

I just had this happen to me 2 days ago on a long drive from Northern California to Southern California. It was during one of the long stretches. I was using D+ and all of the sudden I get an alert that D+ disengaged and was not available for use. Shortly there after the system rebooted while driving. Instrument cluster and center console rebooted. I continued to drive and after the reboot (8-10 mins), the system was back to normal.

First time experiencing this in our 2023 R1T.

It is happening to my R1T 2024. I have scheduled a visit to the SC in Tampa. Reading about it on other threads, it may be related to an AXM module going bad. I will post again after my SC visit.

This happened to me seemingly randomly a year ago. While at the service center for something else, they checked the vehicle logs and said something about the bluetooth module kept crashing and basically caused the issue. They cleared something and never had this issue since.

This keeps happening on our R1T. Blind spot cameras stop showing up, ADAS visualization freezes, and the cruise / highway assist state isn't updating. Just plays that annoying "Take the wheel" chime even when my hand is on the wheel, and then eventually plays a very angry chime and dumps the truck into full regen. Honestly, it's less stressful to just drive the truck than to pray the software doesn't freeze and kick me out of cruise...
