I received an email on Tuesday, August 16th, requesting me to confirm my R1S configuration - Limestone, 22" bright, black mountain (DC area). Rivian also assigned my guide at that time. I decided to change the exterior color to launch green and spoke to my guide about it. She confirmed (1) that the limestone configuration would likely have been delivered by the end of September (my delivery window was August/September), and (2) the change in color would delay my delivery time, but she didn't know by how much (as has been discussed, Rivian batch processes manufacturing by paint color, among other factors). We'll see what happens to the delivery time; the guide indicated that Rivian plans to provide updated delivery windows across the board within the next couple of weeks.

Yes, but Launch Green was supposedly an exclusive color that was sold out i.e. no more new Launch Green orders, even amongst LE orders changing color. The forum here is loaded with posts like this...

Yeah I have asked previously if there were any Launch Green undelivered would I be able to purchase one and was told NO. I don't care about the launch part, but LG is still my favorite color.

.
..and others stating cancellations or color changes of LG orders would not free up additional LG orders...

...more official up is down and yes is no, I suppose.
There was a time period, before the R1 shop was introduced, where some guides were offering orphaned trucks to people instead of their configuration, which included a few Adventure trim people being able to get orphaned Launch Editions.

The post you quoted was someone asking about getting an orphaned Launch Edition even though they did not have a Launch Edition order. It is unrelated to Launch Edition orders being able to switch between Launch Green and other colors.

My current window is Oct-Dec
I saw a LG R1T driving around the other day and decided to make the switch from granite. Hoping thatll get in me in the earlier than later lottery of the Oct-Dec window.

There are so many good options! The color choices and wheels are amazing across the board. Seeing the Venice Hub videos of the LG R1S on black ATs sold me. We live on a dirt road also, so black on black 22s was probably not a wise choice.

Very exciting! Please keep us updated on the process. CS says that I’m still good for the Aug-Sep delivery window. Keeping fingers crossed. And funny, I went from Launch Green to Limestone!

My configuration is similar to the OP and my pre-order date is December 2019. I'm in Denver with a well-established service center and R1S's showing up in town. Yet again, the Scooby-Doo mystery of how some people get invited to take delivery...
11/2018 LE order in the bay area and not a peep. The order seems very arbitrary. I see tons of R1Ts in the bay area at this stage, at least 1-2 a day.

That sounds about right. I think I am in the 10,500 area and I am May 2019 preorder holder. Wow this is becoming real. Got Oct to Dec window, so this makes me think December 31.

Wow odd in may 2019 in DC area and don't even have a guide. Please keep in touch and let us know when you will get delivery.
Did you order the LE? Or, did you happen to order Explorer and change to Adventure? I’m anticipating that I’ll get penalized from my Jan 2020 preorder date because I passed on LE and originally ordered Explorer, but changed to Adventure.

I have a new guide as of today so I scheduled another status update call just to make sure I don’t fall through the cracks. Only new nugget from today is the revised ocean coast interior is going into production which might slow down the roll-out a bit.
