Got the latest update today. Installed successfully without issue. Then I updated the app. That’s when the issue appeared.

Right after the app updated, I got an alert telling me to call service to have the 12v battery replaced. (In my case, 2 12v batteries) I called support, (I can tell support staff quality has went downhill since the last time I called) and they told me to restart the vehicle. Alert did not go away.

I have an appointment for Monday but I highly suspect it’s a bug in the new app.

Anyone else experience this?

Thoughts?

Got it…the assistant is really good. Update started at 530pm. Adds a new level of integration for my Gen 1 #9150. He’s been a good one. Plan to add R2 soon. I have just played with it on a short drive but the assistant is pretty good. Enjoy

No issues so far but I do wish my contact nicknames worked for messaging. Too many people with the same name. I like to say send a message to my 'son' for example ... But that's minor now that we have messaging finally.

A bug or is it possible the new software picked up on an issue with your 12v batteries? It will be interesting to hear what service finds. Please let us know the outcome of your service visit.

Right now I have this update afterwards my adaptive cruise control needs servicing and does not work. I have done both a hard and soft reset, check and cleaned all the sensors with no luck.

Same thing for me: Saturday morning, I received the 12v alert in the truck and the app. Mobile service is scheduled for today, we'll see what they say...

I got the update and about three days later got a text message from Rivian telling me that my 12V needed to be replaced along with an 800 number. I called the number and within 10 minutes they scheduled a mobile service appointment for Friday. Service on the phone was great. The number was 855-748-4265

I do notice an uptick in these "I updated my software and now my 12v is showing it needs to be replaced" around the time of an update. I wonder if the software update process is somehow hard on the 12V system?

I don't think this is a software bug showing you an incorrect error.

Mine is a late 22’ and 12v batteries haven’t been replaced. Planning on taking trips this summer and it makes me nervous. Tried to get SC to check batteries but they claim that they don’t test the batteries because the truck already does it.

Is anyone getting the battery message after leaving the truck unplugged? As my truck is plugged in every day and am wondering if I need to leave it unplugged for a certain amount of time in order for it to cycle.

I do not think it needs to be plugged in. I know people say always be charging but I’ve had my R1S a little over 3 years and 45k miles. I only plug it in once or twice a week when I charge, unplugged other than that. Have had my Tesla 10 years and 118k miles, have done the same thing with that one. Has not been an issue with either vehicle for battery pack or 12 volt.

Interestingly enough, updated to 2026.15 on Saturday and got a phone call from a 800 number with the name “Rivian Service” this evening. Noting same thing, “looks like your 12V needs replaced, complimentary.” Unfortunately, doesn’t appear they have any mobile service appointments available and I’ll have to make the 3 hour trek to a service center.

Will say, I am a little disappointed that one of my concerns with Rivian that I openly brought up when evaluating going with Rivian was the service center distance. I unfortunately bought on to their spiel that they “absolutely have mobile service available for my home location, no problem!” Thus far, has not been the case.

I wish I would have had this update on my '22 R1T with 20K miles on it actually. My 12v went out on me and was unable to drive and I had to end up paying about $700 for replacement. It made me fearful as every 3 years I was going to replace these things, but at least glad now they have software to check the status of them over time.
