Hello,

I plan on doing some off-roading in Sedona AZ and would like some recommendations on what off-road trail apps (iPhone) to use.

Thanks

Gaia with TrailsOffroad.

Personally I like this combination quite a bit more than OnX. At least for my area.

Umm, basic white boy here ??‍♂ who uses AllTrails usually. I just had my mind blown by Gaia! This is my new go-to, I love the "Public Tracks" that shows you where people have actually been!

Thanks, all!

There are some other good ones, but features like that are what sets Gaia apart for me. Also it is equally good for off-roading as it is for hiking. I feel like it’s worth every penny.

I especially like the private land map in Gaia GPS for hiking and off-roading.

Get a trailsoffroad membership and thank me later. ?

I do also use alltrails a for everything else and jjst a bit for driving, but it's just not detailed enough for offroad exploration for me. Most of the trails on trailsoffroad around here include full descriptions, ratings, and drive videos.

Also check out the layers in Gaia like snow depth.

This is my go to combination as well. I started with Gaia and later added TrailsOffroad and at least in the west this combo gives a lot of information.

+1 for Gaia GPS and TrailsOffroad

I grab GPX files from TrailsOffroad and import them into Gaia. But hey, one more reason to want CarPlay at some point is Gaia supports it for use on the main car display instead of relying just on the phone.

Gaia would be a great app / integration to have available in the Rivian. Like Rivian's navigation, I believe it is built on Mapbox. Which is not meant to imply it is necessarily a trivial exercise.
