Rivian will do a home delivery to your house. Something to do with regulations on Delivery and Title at different locations. I can't remember the exact wording but that was what my Delivery "guide" explain to me. My R1S was delivered last week on a Rivian flatbed truck.
Hmmmm. That’s interesting. Rivian knows that I’m titling the truck in Nevada. The details in my 8-step process show my Nevada address and even paying Douglas County, NV sales tax. I was under the impression that they were no longer doing free long range deliveries. During the 8-step process, they seemed to indicate that there is a $1000 fee for the delivery service. I will definitely have to dig a little deeper into this delivery thing. I assume you delivery went well.
Just received a text message from the Sacramento SC stating that they were expecting my truck next week. Don’t know how long it will take them to prep it. So, it’s looking a lot like delivery some time after Labor Day.
I was contacted by the Sacramento SC, today. They have my truck and wanted to schedule a delivery date, which we did - 9/12. I asked, if the truck was ready, could I pick it up sooner in Sacramento. He confirmed what you said about titling and delivery in NV. They have to deliver to your home in NV, otherwise you would be dealing with CA taxes and titling. He also mentioned that the Sparks SC will be open in “a couple of weeks”.?
And depending on what part of SLT you're coming from, it could be a lot longer if 89 through Emerald Bay is closed...which it certainly was for most of this past winter...
I'm waiting for a few minor rattles to get fixed, and waiting until I can get them scheduled for the Sparks SC. It shows up in the app as the nearest Service Center for me, but won't let me schedule yet. I keep checking every few days.
I took this picture this morning at the new Reno Rivian center at 1315 Greg Street (Sparks NV). They also have signage inside the office with chairs. They have four charges on the side of the building too (not the super chargers). I didn't see any Rivian service trucks or Rivian employees just a few construction guys working inside. My guess is they are very close to opening.
Did you pay the $1,000 for delivery? My R1T should be in Sacramento on September 9 and I ordered delivery to Minden, NV.
Delivery is FREE to Nevada! You can’t pick it up in Sac, even if you want to, without dealing with CA taxes and title. Luckily, we pay the Douglas County tax rate, 7.1%. As best as I can tell, the registration is pretty much dialed. I don’t think there will be a need to go to DMV In person. I’m getting my R1T delivered in Gardnerville on 9/12. They have had my truck is Sac for almost a week, but the earliest they could deliver it is the 12th. The SC will contact you when they have your truck in Sac.
