For context, I had a 2022 R1T and currently own a 2026 R1T Quad.

I'm heading to Breckenridge for spring break with my family in a couple of weeks. We're flying into Denver and driving up. I see an R1S for rent on Turo at a pretty reasonable price. It's a 2026 Dual with the standard battery pack. I really just need to get the family and our luggage to Breck and back. I'm expecting to do very little driving, if any, once we're there.

I have no experience with the standard battery pack, especially in cold weather. Presumably even with a hit from the cold, it should have enough range to make the 100 miles to Breck. It also looks like there's plenty of fast charging on the way. We'll have a garage in Breck and can keep it plugged in on level 1 charging if needed.

Is there any reason I wouldn't want to rent this car? Or is there anything that I should be aware of? Thanks.

None. Just avoid running SOC below 20%, on the off chance that it has not been charged full periodically—as recommended—to aid accuracy of pack calibration.

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and booked it. It looks like it doesn't have a mobile charger, just a level 2 adapter. However, it's a '26 so I can bring mine if it makes sense. It looks like there's plenty of charging around so it's probably not needed for my use case. I'll probably bring my CCS to NACS level 3 adapter though.

It appears to have Goodyear Wranglers.
They'll have the 3PMSF logo. Just check the tread depth. A quarter inserted behind Washington's head into a 6/32 tread will cover all the space up to his hair. Hopefully we'll get snow so it will mean something to check. In any case hope you have fun.

Something that caught me out. Dont roll up to a RAN charging station expecting to be able to use it. Its not your car/Rivian account so you'll unlikely be able to use the charger.

RAN doesn't take credit card taps/swipes? None close enough yet for me to use/try.

It will make it to breck but be aware that 4000ft elevation gain can eat an extra 40 miles of range. I would just plan to fast charge in Frisco on the way up so you have nothing to worry about the rest of the trip.
