I am generally not a Volvo fan (have never owned one) but I genuinely like this car. I like the interior and the exterior especially in the Forest Lake + Dawn. I am sorely tempted. Thankfully, Volvo is putting off the P12 and the Cross Country until next year (thank you Volvo!) so my decision is much easier to just wait and see. And tbh, the single Orin autonomy system is probably a deal killer for me. I am just not buying into another Gen 1 R1 hobbled ADAS. But I really love the car.

Agreed. The Cross Country trim adds a bit of flair that makes it look a little mean. Gives it almost a joker smile. I like that. Had that been coming first with the P12 version, I'd likely go there.

I will 3rd this. I like the looks of it too. Would be much harder decision if the P12 was not backordered in Europe for 12 months

@TexasBob Thanks for sharing. EX60 was very high on my list. I liked a lot of what I was seeing, but:

The Europeans are being told P12 is more than a year away. Once the US site allows Americans to order and get in line, it would seem that would be at the back of the line to be even longer.

They don't even show the Heather Bronze color we would choose that the Europeans can order now (and wait for).

I wound up in the same place as @mellowthecat with an iX3 order for Fall delivery.

If that lease headline of "from" is read as $599 for the lowest price config (which is ~$60K, Plus, RWD, no options) and we factor in the $6409 down, that's an effective $777/month (pretax) for a $60K retail vehicle. Yikes, I guess the new hotness will settle down, but you should be able to get the Ultra in AWD for less than that.

Depends on residual, if it is anywhere near 50% then the monthly amount is reasonable (with interest charge too).

Oh yeah, if the RV is low, but that's really my point: as leases go, that's not great, regardless of what's driving the price (RV and/or MF). The math-is-the-math, but I generally don't do leases over the 1% rule

They pulled a reserve Rivian. Come out with the cheaper model first and save the more expensive one for later. I think the P12 was the real headliner here with the 400 miles of range though so funny how that works out.

That's because they're probably battery constrained and introduced the model with the smallest battery first. No such thing with R2 since all versions have the same battery so Rivian sells the highest profit margin models first.

FWIW, quite a few folks on the iX forum are very interested in the EX60, possibly even over an iX3. Same ruminations with the P12 not being available in the short-er term.

The other main group is waiting on the iX5 Holy smokes, same battery/motor tech, and purportedly coming with a 147kW battery

(I realize the iX5 is definitely a different market segment)

I will admit, the EX60 is growing on me. It may be a toss up between the R2, iX3, and the EX60. The other thing I discovered yesterday is the EX90 (3-row) has some serious discounts right now and can be leased for similar prices. I know they had some major software issues at launch, but if those issues have been resolved, I may need to consider one of those as well.
