yes the SC in Vancouver- I was very pleased with the treatment of rattles.

I'll take back for the 1 left in the driver window. I think the squeaking will be a live with it for now.

Had this, and it was a simple press to secure one clip that wasn’t seated. Never came back.

Same for mine - now 2300 miles and 2 months in since

I placed a heavy corn hole bean bag on top of the grill. Not ideal, but it instantly relieves the annoying sound for now!

Orlando SC fixed this for me today. Seems like a known issue with later VINs. Rattle happened non stop for me and tech joined me for a ride to confirm. They didn’t replace the top of the dash (known problem part with newer vehicle) and had it reclipped instead. If the clips underneath break then the top of the dash and/or clips need to be replaced. Solves 98% of the rattles for me.

Is there quite a bit of flex on the top center of the dash for others as well? Seems like not a lot of bracing there

I did the same thing with a sunglass case. It just needs a little pressure to stop the rattle.

I have no rattle from the front but squeaking something from the back sounds like the rear window itself, anyone had this?

Our R1S (VIN 27,xxx) had this rattle occasionally from new. Finally got it fixed a couple days ago on a mobile service appointment with a couple other small things. The tech said he'd come across it a couple times and that he suspected it was something with a loose clip holding the center speaker grille down. After taking everything out of the top of the dash, he said it was missing one of the plastic clips. He replaced the clip and added some extra insulation and the rattle hasn't come back since.

Never noticed this thump/rattle until today. 77-degrees. One more thing to add to the mega ticket that I’ve yet to file since delivery.

Thanks to this thread (and another on rivianforums), I think I was able to quell the rattling under the speaker grill. I made a terrible how-to video based on what I learned here. Hopefully this helps someone on the fence about doing this.

thank you very much. I needed this video to fix the rattle noise… bc SC tried to fix it and said it was fixed but it was not.. and yet they damaged my front windshield tint. They still haven’t reimbursed me yet. Horrible

Ha! The SC scratched the inside of my front windshield too. Damaging the tint. I should have done it all myself from the start.

Would vibration mitigating mats, like Dynamat, work on the V-shaped housing instead of various felt tape?

Possibly. From my experience dynamat is still fairly hard. A piece of plastic knocking against it would make some noise still. Dull thud noise, but still present.

The wiggling of that vent assembly seemed to be the issue. The felt I put in were more bumpers. They are thick and somewhat wedge the assembly in place between the other pieces of plastic.

Maybe it's just me, but every time I see the thread title my brain sees it as "Rivian death rattle".
