Just a public service announcement. My digital key install eventually bombed in the middle of deleting the original keys and then would never let me restart the process from the mobile app.

You do restart that process by clicking on the digital key in the top right corner of the app.

I ended up having to manually delete my old phone PAAK / Bluetooth key.

Then I could go through the normal flow again

Yeah, nothing ever quite works the way Rivian documents things. The gen2 key fob comes to mind when it first came out.

I second the need to delete your old PAAK before doing the upgraded key process.

i found myself this morning with my Riv app open on my phone - but car would not shift out of park due to "no phone or card detected" and the icon display to place a key card on the center console...

so i located my new Rivian "card" in my apple wallet - and the car shpowed "unlocked" beheth the icon....but still wouldnt allow me to shift.
i finally figured out i needed to do a face id to "open or unlock" the card and THEN place it on the center console

is this how it is supposed to work or am i doing something wrong?

i hope there is an easier way because this will be annoying if i need to do a face id an place my phone on the center console every time...

Got notice in app for key ready for both of our G2 R1's. Just set mine up. Took a few mins, but no hiccups. iPhone 15 Pro Max and AWU3.

Wife is running errands at the moment. So I'll do her R1 when she gets home.

I’m sitting in my car and the set up failed. Now it’s saying I need to get in my car, where I am, but it already killed my phone as key, so now I have no proximity lock and unlock ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And all my keys are gone now?

Is express mode enabled for the Rivian key in your wallet?

i dont see a way to turn ion Express mode - do i need to be inside of the vehicle to do it?
i dont see it liosted as an option on the card

Similar story here. ‘25 gen-2 R1S. Got the update to .46, iPhone 17pro is on the app v3.8.0. No icon in the top right of the app to upgrade the key. I’ve watched Rivian’s tutorial video. Restarted phone, soft reset of vehicle. Deleted PAAK. It just goes through the normal setup process for that. Any ideas to remedy this yet from anyone else that had issues?

So, I waited about an hour after trying and it popped up on the app just like the video. I guess it’s a patience game. Will try to setup in the morning and see if it works.
