Not reneged. Read the letter he posted on facebook.

Riven never offered him a 2026 brand new model. They offered to replace it at his betterment. He starts asking for new. They then start suggesting a repair/payout.

They offer a second time, certified pre-owned (this is later than the first back and forth above). OP rejects it as "he normally only buys new vehicles and cant trust prior owners".

He lays it all out.

OP's case is that when Rivian offered a replacement at his "betterment" that REQUIRES brand new, and 22" sport rims, and Max battery. But that is his requirement, and was never offered by Rivian.

Sadly 90% of accidents happen due to ignorance of what happens when one is distracted by their cell phone. Or working while high.

So I'd want a BRAND NEW SPANKING Truck if whoever damaged my truck did so not because of an OOPS, but because they were either high or distracted.

Note - I don't know the specifics of this case and whether the Rivian employee was a druggie or distracted. But, the whole "it was just an accident" I don't really buy anymore.

Accidents do happen, but just not to the extent "accidents" are happening these days.

We have no idea regarding the nature of any other comms between the OP and Rivian other than what was relayed here by the OP. He could fabricate portions or omit details to his "betterment". That's why I suggested ending the online rants, getting a lawyer and making a case against Rivian.

Maybe it’s just me being jaded from a long career in sales and customer service but I sniffed this whole thing out in the very first post. I’d like to say it’s a generational thing but the entitled customer who thinks they are owed something way beyond and above being made whole is a species that while rare, has been in existence probably since the Stone Age.
