Dude, maybe if you had joined this forum when you first purchased your Rivian you might have gotten some sane advice before you shot yourself in the foot.

Another example of that old saying: "Common sense is not so common."

This is the most fun I have had on this forum in a long time.

regardless of everything, hopefully this gets resolved soon.

He’s still posting new messages on Facebook claiming that they offered a new vehicle even though the letter that he even wrote to Rivian never states that he was offered a new vehicle except a vehicle to his betterment, not detriment. But he keeps insisting on the post on Facebook that they were promised a new vehicle and nothing else will suffice except a new vehicle. Pretty disgusting to see people try to take advantage like this.

I'm guessing the service center manager made the promise offer and then was overruled by his superiors.
FTFY.

I sincerely doubt any promise was made.

"betterment not detriment" and "r2 reservation holder" seems to be the two phrases that show up consistently in the posts and articles written for it :movember:

Fair… not the most user friendly forum but I did edit it and leveraging AI is essential given the many hours of time I’ve spent litigating this matter with Rivian. My AI is well trained on the matter.

Rivian is in the wrong, period. Your post is kinda sad, is this RJ?!? 🤣

I do not feel I’m owed a new truck. It was offered so I accepted. I’m certainly not entitled to a new truck. It was offered so I accepted. I did turn down the used offer as the settlement did not cover the cost. I did feel Rivian could have made an offer to help cover that cost difference as a gesture of goodwill. Thanks for the enjoyable conversation.

New truck talk aside, this particular piece is disappointing, if true. What was the cost difference? I would be upset if I dropped my truck off for service and had to come $10k+ (or any amount, for that matter) out of pocket just to get back a similarly used truck.

It sounds like this happened at the very end, so perhaps they were just fed up with you trying to get a new max pack out of it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cost difference is 50k...he is asking for almost exactly a 2X value uplift.

Bro is crazy. Had he selected a slightly newer 2024, then all the extra he "lost" like charger etc would still work just fine.
