I have "Rivian Insurance" (Nationwide). We also have them for our house, so they did the whole "bundle" thing (with my wife's car also). When I got it, it was only $17 more per month than what I was paying for my old beater Chevy truck. I joke that if I couldn't afford that, I wouldn't have been buying a new truck in the first place. 😉 From what I recall, they were about $100 bucks less than USAA.

Don't think it's gone up much. We both have clean records, but live in an area with a lot of uninsured motorists / hit & runs. Obviously YMMV. Good luck!

I didn't have much luck with Rivian insurance. They wanted $290/month. State Farm insured me for $190/month but recently informed me it's going up to $220/month. I have great credit and no accidents.

I know that the state minimum in California is going from $15/30,000 to $30/60,000 shortly and that might be SOME of the reason it's increasing. Who knows. We pay more for everything in California. 💩

Make sure you are comparing similar or identical levels of coverage. Premiums alone don't paint a full picture.

Honestly I don’t think anyone is getting deals on insurance anymore. USAA tried to almost double my insurance after a year with my Rivian even though nothing changed (no tickets, no claims). I switched to Progressive which split the difference but I’m sure they will raise it soon too. It’s BS.
You pretty much just have to shop insurance every year now. It's a complete pain in the ass - but the premium differences between insurers were wild the last time I shopped rates in 2024. My insurance is coming down $200 per month with Progressive upgrading to the Dune, but also switching from a CA to CO policy - so it's hard to quantify the decrease, since I doubt the upgrade is driving a decrease. It didn't change that much on the move out here?

Yeah, I fully expect Progressive to try the same crap at renewal time. CO has some of the most expensive auto rates in the nation, so I don’t expect much relief even if I play the game every year, but unfortunately you are probably right 😣

Exact same coverage - $290/month with Rivian, $190 (now $222) with State Farm. State Farm is only cheaper because we have our homeowner's insurance with them.

Yes I have called dozen different places like Wawanessa, Costco, Progressive, Geico, Amina and AAA. No one is taking new clients.
I am able to get USAA insurance and, when I called them for a quote, we got quite far along in the process and then they asked me what type of vehicle. They then told me, "Sorry, we aren't insuring electric vehicles."
