* Not a complaint *
** Observational only **

As a new R1S owner coming from a Model Y (and Model S before that), I was surprised how loud the R1S drive train was (I did not test drive one prior). It is noticeably louder to the point that at first I was worried I had a bad car.

Now that I've gotten over the initial ignorance and fear (thanks forums!), it doesn't bother me and it's kinda cool.

I did want to note that I have the dual motor Enduro's. I wonder if these are louder or quieter than the quad setup (regarding wine)?
I got my R1T dual motor in the last month and mine is definitely louder than the quad. A lot louder then my last 3 Teslas.

Also if your running the stock AT tires on the 20’s they start to get loud around 13,000 miles or so. Sometimes sooner. Me a lots of others here describe it as a higher pitched whine rather then a low rumble you get with more aggressive tires. I thought I had motor noise too but it’s definitely the tires. Others have noticed it go away after getting a different brand like the new Michelin Defender LTX Platinums.
Also noticing noise at higher speeds I am at 14k miles on my quad motor R1S 18" AT. Noise seems related to motor or tire noise. It's flapping noise and frequency of flapping goes up with speed. Service center did check on motor and suspension. They mention it is not unusual and expected. I am 100% sure it was not there earlier. Not sure what to do now. Was your problem resolved?

Yep, new tires solved the noise for me.

A little off-topic, but I’ve noticed a noise in the rear motors of my R1S. It’s sort of a low hum and slight variation. I believe this used to happen when the motor was cold, but this wasn’t the case since I had just driven about 30 miles, and temperatures were in the 50s. I noticed this at the end of my drive, got out of the vehicle and I could still hear the humming noise in the rear.

That's probably the air suspension pump.
I believe I hear this noise when driving as well as I pull to a stop. I do have the suspension set to auto.

Is this a problem or normal?

That's normal too.
What's not normal is if it's on all the time or your suspension sags after you leave it parked for a while (both are indications you have a leak in the air suspension bags).

I haven’t noticed any sagging at all, but I’ll pay closer attention to the noise. Thanks
