I’m really wanting to pick up a set of these for the R1S. However they explicitly state it doesn’t fit R1S. Does anyone know know what about the two models are different? Guessing just the rear is different and wondering what kind of modification is needed to make them work. The Rally Armor ones are shiny and flimsy which I don’t like.

RokBlokz just responded and confirmed fronts fit, but they need a vehicle for 2 days to make a set for the rear. Anyone near Utah County, they are looking for an R1S?

Why would anyone want these? Most of your driving is on loose gravel? The vents in the front that actually aid aero efficiency are blocked off. The flaps are semi-rigid and rather large. Combined with range of suspension travel possible, these are just potential damage multipliers. And they protrude out enough to potentially increase turbulence/drag. Plus they look crude. If you are concerned with mud splashing, ceramic coating is money better spent.

Not a fan either, but these do not block the front aero opening.

Meanwhile - my take if they did block the “aeroholes” I would absolutely buy them.

Site says:

I spend a lot of time off-road and want to close up the Aero vents on my front fenders. Do you offer something for that?

- Rokblokz mud flaps come ready to block those aero vents. If you want the vent open to perform as designed, that is no problem either. You will just need a knife or other blade to cut a few small tabs to remove the Aero vent block off portion from the flap.

I live in AZ and the desert absolutely destroys paint and black plastics. I had these on my jeep and they bend/flex when you drop off rocks onto them. No issue with damage off-roading.

I personally like the look and the type of damage desert off-roading causes, ceramic wouldn’t do anything. Even with PPF, high speed desert driving still causes damage under the PPF as seen on my Wrangler. The best way to prevent damage is stop the rocks from reaching the surface of the vehicle.

These, from BestEvMod, fit perfectly on the R1S. They install quickly, match the overall feel of the vehicle and, IMO, look good.

I agree with you on the BestEVMod flaps. I installed a set on my 2025 R1S. Installation is easy and I think they look OEM quality. They are unobtrusive, but definitely help keep mud off the vehicle.

Adventure on!

As a point of reference, I was a fan of Rally Armour from previous hot hatches. I even convinced them to color match compass yellow Rivian accents. I kept them on for about a month because I saw a significant and appreciable range hit (and no, they don't block the front aero holes either. There's likely just a ton of added air distrubance that interrupts laminar flow behind the wheels).

If I had to put a number to it, I'd suggest upwards of 5%. Way more than I'd anticipated.

I have these too. What I have noticed is that there is a range hit due to mud flaps.

The range impact differs with ride height. The loss is minimal at lowest and low, about 5% on standard. I don't know in higher ride height as I never use them. If I had to guess, the range loss probably will improve with higher ride height.

The way aero drag works, it's better if the vehicle floor is very low to the ground (e.g., race cars) or much higher off the ground. in between is probably the worst spot.
