Quite possible. I honestly am more disheartened by the use of the spot. The diaper is just one of those things. It’s like dog owners that somehow manage to pickup and bag their dog poop but then throw the bag on the ground.
Did the people using the spot for a few minutes prevent a disabled person using the charger?

Beside the point. They didn’t know when somebody could have shown up needing that spot. There were other spots available that they should have used.

This was (gasp!), a Rivian owner? Our vehicles are so distinctive that I find myself being especially polite when I'm driving now, hoping that they think "wow - Rivian drivers are really considerate" (as opposed to the thought I often have when a Tesla driver cuts me off).

Thanks for letting us know - Had I seen this I might have been inclined to pick up the diaper and zing it at the offending vehicle (or, if they weren't there, put it under the wiper).
Better yet, “clean” their windshield with the contents of the diaper.

It is not beside the point. So this “incident” had no actual impact on any disabled person and was just an opportunity for you to start a thread to whine. This forum has decent and informative content and this thread was neither of those attributes.

I totally disagree with you - we have no idea if someone who needed extra space to get out of their vehicle to charge was heading there and simply didn't stop because the ADA spot was occupied. If you're in that situation you cannot take one of the other spots with an open charger next to you because someone might pull in and want to charge in that empty space and then you're stuck.

The OP's point is that it's rude to use an ADA-marked charger that you don't need when there are others available. It's an asshole move to do so whether or not you know it impacted someone.

Well said. I believe this is the point of the post. People abuse marked handicap spaces all the time and don't think twice about the inconvenience it creates for others. They simply don't understand or don't care. Also, It is rare to have police ticket this problem, so awareness and understanding is the only way to improve this behavior.

I definitely could have more clearly stated that this was truly a post about reminding people to be considerate of others especially in a small community like those using RAN stations.

Can't get over the used diaper tossed into the spot beside it for someone else to park and charge over.

What an image.

That seems like a good reason to keep some salad tongs in a plastic bag somewhere in/on the car.

And maybe some of those 'exam' gloves as well . . . . but not in the bag with the tongs.

Disposable nitrile gloves are always good to have. Multi-purpose but not environmentally sound. Maybe use a couple branches? just not poison oak. 😆
