I think he was trying (poorly) to say it was like the bat-signal.

Kinda weird that he stumbled over it as well. LRs have had this for quite some time, and I'm sure other luxury vehicles have as well.

It looks really cool, but honestly, I've only ever found it totally useful in 2 situations - getting into the car in a dark parking lot after rain (puddle avoidance) or getting into the car in the woods in the middle of the night after rain (puddle/mud avoidance). Otherwise it's mostly just for show, imo.

Funny, he says "it's not as fast as a Model 3", but Out of Spec just said it repeatedly beat the Model 3 performance (at least in a drag race). Apparently the Model 3 held it's own up to 40-50mph, but then drops off while the Rivian kept going.

Same guy delivered my truck (he told me he just dropped Sandy's off), he had it in conserve mode. Still pretty fast in a straight line. When I put it into sport mode it's a whole different truck. I got the sport wheels and not the off-road ones though, might make a difference, especially with it being freezing temps here.

That was my point. Rivian has already said it should be a $95k truck--and as of the reversion will be for anybody who ordered on or after March 1. As Sandy's is configured (except sub'ing FG for LG since Adventure can't do LG), that's a $94,750 truck plus the delivery fee.

I'm more than "a bit" disappointed. Can't any of these people remain professional and do their job?

That's the first time I saw the walk-up welcome light, didn't know Rivian had implemented this.
I am glad it has this feature.

It would have been nice if it did as a sweeping motion.

Plenty of people have got R1Ts with no issues. Its just luck of the draw. No different than Tesla. My Model Y was perfectly fine, but other people had a ton of issues.

Love the Top Gun moment when, at 0:20, Sandy says, he wants to talk about "his newest acquisition" and Sue, his wife, with a look of disbelief on her face says, "our newest acquisition". Reminds me of when Maverick, in Top Gun, says, "I just happened to see a MIG 28" and he's corrected by Goose who says, "we...we just happened to see a MIG 28".

I may be wrong, but I think he has stated between Cory, Sandy, and others they ordered 5 in total. Short straw gets the teardown?
