I always get the biggest laugh with the CT "reservation list". People act like it's some accurate master list from Tesla. It's a crowd sourced spreadsheet from the forums that has simply been "revealed" by these EV sites. Says right at the top of the graphic. ?
It's a $100 reservation and we know many people have multiple reservations for various EVs. It's possible there are 2 million "reservations", but until the actual details and pricing are announced it is totally meaningless.

And Tesla knows that too. That is probably why they are waiting until the last possible second to make those announcements. If their pricing and specs are truly so amazing why not put it out there now and make that "list" even bigger?

shit talk it all you want but I guarantee it will do extremely well and have some very impressive tech/features. But yes it is objectively ugly.

Which is exactly why Tesla is slow rolling it. They are building up interest and momentum WITHOUT announcing price and specs. That tells me that the price is gone way up and the specs suck. If Tesla is building them already then they know what the specs and the costs will be already.

There's no reason not to announce those at this point if they were as good as many people are hoping.
From what I've seen of the photos of Tesla's suspension and the fact that no-one has ever seen a cybertruck tow anything, I will be very surprised if they are able to hit their 3500 lbs payload and 14,000 lbs towing numbers. Especially because they added 4 wheel steering to it after those were announced. I would not be surprised to find out they can't do all three things in the same vehicle and you'll have to choose trims.

Agreed that it will do well. Not so sure that it will have impressive tech/features. I expect it to have similar or lower features overall to the R1T. Of course any little thing will be hype as a Tesla innovation (ala Apple and them "innovating" things that have been done many times before).

RWS, 48 volt electrical architecture and auto popping doors on approach (Tesla eliminated door handles) are some cool features that are supposed to be incorporated.

Steer-by-wire is also rumored to be coming.

Tesla incorporated the federally mandated 3rd brake light in a clever way. View the nighttime video below and it can be seen in action on the F150 wrapped Cybertruck.

Nearing 2 million Cybertruck reservations. Tesla is reportedly receiving 1,000 reservations per day.

As Elon stated, Cybertruck demand is so far off the hook that you can’t even see the hook.

Meaningless data. Not official numbers, and nothing matters except conversion rates. Evidence: I've had a CT reservation since the day it was announced. I have no intention of actually purchasing the vehicle.

I also will not be one of the asshats that'll flip their reservations. They're just keeping 100$ of my money interest free until they email me and I tell them to go pound sand, or preferably EM's face.

I thought the third brake light could not be on a movable component (tailgate). If it can there's no reason we can't get that too. I always thought we needed an additional brake light on the tailgate.

I also believe the pricing will be substantially higher then what we were shown a couple of years back, but other than the fear of scaring potential customers off, two legit reasons I can imagine for not releasing pricing yet are:
-They are still too far away from actual production (you know.. vehicles being made and delivered to paying customers) and they're concerned commodity prices (Stainless Steel, copper, semiconductors, battery raw materials, etc..) could change too much between now and production start and they'd have to change pricing to cover cost increases just before release which wouldn't go over well.
- No matter what the king says.. they have still not finalized all the production model details (fix the leaks in boat mode, still unable to tow infinite mass, that wiper!, etc..), so it would be very risky to release a final price when the vehicle design/materials aren't set in stone yet.

Admittedly, it's very frustrating to see them drag out the pricing details, but it is what it is when dealing with the king ;)

I love to see the details if it will indeed be using 48 volts for the low voltage system. I wonder if that means the end to using a separate battery for the low voltage system and they will just run everything off the big traction battery?

Both are entirely possible! But even if we are still looking at 6 months out - which would be hilarious since it's Musk trying to get everyone to the edge of their seats about "production" starting - a more accurate range of pricing could be announced if they saw it as adding to their competitive advantage.

Tesla hasn’t hired Cybertruck assembly line employees yet. Once that occurs production is eminent.

Agreed, his "production staring" statements could easily mean many months out.. and could only be a couple hundred (if that many) vehicles. His statements are pretty much meaningless nowadays... who knows, he may end up becoming the Howard Hughes of our generation based on his off the wall behavior of late?

I hope no one ever ends up like that, but if I had to pick one person headed in that direction it would definitely be him.
