Seat Belt Mod - Possible?

Saw some Forest Edge seat belts on Ebay recently, and got me thinking. Wife's Cayenne has a black interior with red (bordeaux) seatbelts, really sharp look. I guess it might depend on the type of accident/reason is was totalled, but would it be possible to swap out black belts in a Black Mountain interior with Forest Edge from a parts car? Are there sensors or anything? Don't mess with safety related stuff? Anyone done it?

In general the seat belts are serviceable/ replaceable as a belt , buckle , and retracting hardware bundle

Each belt end with fasten into the body with a beefy bolt
Make sure you have the Torq spec on what those bolts need

May be a minor headache pulling the headliner to get to the other interior trim panels
Pulling the rear seat is really easy, just remove five or so 15mm bolts

You may have to work around airbag curtains
(Not sure)

Really depends on your level of comfort

Polestar 3 has yellow seatbelts. When I noticed that, I said "damn, Rivian should have had yellow seatbelts" to match the accents.

I love the Polestar yellow seatbelts and thought the same thing. I think that it would turn off a lot of people so it would probably be best to make it an option.

I had a rear seat belt rattle and the SC replaced the whole thing. They said that there is a small explosive charge in it and they don't mess with it. My .02, don't mess with it.

I’ve seen posts on the bmw forum where guys do this. They have some one provide them after market kits. Others DIY it. You have to be confident you get good seatbelt material and ensure you sew them into the tensioner properly without messing up any of the mechanicals. It’s easier to get parts for the older cars too. So you can work on them before taking your car apart. Would be nice if we could just order whatever parts we wanted like walking into a parts department.
