Hey all,
Love my R1T.
Have had it a few years now and it's really come a long way:
I no longer have issues with small things like the vehicle unlocking quickly on approach or not having car play / AA
I've just accepted things like voice to text/Alexa are useless and have stopped trying and I'm much happier with the vehicle just accepting it's downfalls.
Pic attached of a regular activity this truck is awesome for.
Rivian R1T R1S Seat Memory - does this work for anyone? 1000012432

That being said- the roomy entry/seat memory has always been a problem and seems to be worse now than when I took delivery.
Anyone else have this dialed in? Is there a trick? Or should I just let this functionality go as well.

Thanks

You may need to go through the recalibration process for the seat and steering wheel.

Usually works for me. I did do the seat calibration process - then reset everything. I have it do roomy exit/entry, then go back to driving position.

Occasionally, it doesn’t return to my driving position - seems like it may have to do with sleep/wake issues. In those cases, I select another driver, then reselect myself and it seems to work.

This is my exact experience.
Often I'll throw it in park and move my seat a bit and then hit restore - that will put me where I should be - not sure why I can't push the restore button unless I'm in park though.

It happened to me when I didn’t leave enough time to the seat and steering wheel to move before going in drive mode which seems to stop the memory as a security feature while the car may be moving. Try to push on the brake pedal and wait before to put it in drive until it gets to its driving position.

As I was (poorly seated) driving home and my R1T refused to make any changes switching between driver profiles, I found myself getting angry. I hadn’t noticed that it didn’t adjust as expected until I was driving. End of drive - pulled into my garage, shift to Park, shift to Reverse - seat goes to where I expect.

Seat works as expected about 85-90% of the time. Why the 10-15% failure rate?

For good measure only one of the done lights turned off as I shifted from Park to Reverse. That one works ~95% of the time. But explain the 5% failure rate. I’ve never experienced either of those on my ‘20 MY.

I really do love my R1T but with this death by a 1000 cuts, I unfortunately find my enthusiasm waning. Bummer and just had a great 1500 mile road trip.

Poor software reliability is really frustrating. Cars interfaces need to work consistently.

I’ve also had issues recently. The feature worked great for months, but now it feels like it kind of guesses where I want the seat lol

The seat won’t move without the car in park. It’s a safety issue. Also I’d say working 95% of the time to be pretty consistent.

To the OP, I never use roomy exit but my R1 switches properly between mine and my wife’s profiles.

I gave up on Roomy entry/exit a long time ago. And recently for unknown reasons it lost my seat, mirror and logged me out of Alexa. Still trying to find my perfect seat position that I had dialed in just right. 😠

It's definitely related to waking from sleep. Mine works only 50% of the time. Every loaner I've had while getting other things done exhibits the same issues.

It really cannot be that hard. Cars from early 2000s had this working reliably.

Remind me not to go parachuting with someone who thinks 5-10% failure rate is ok. ;)

Rivian does allow the user to switch profiles and saved seating positions with the vehicle in any gear, as long as in Hold for Drive and Reverse.

Keeping it roomy… sometimes

Jebus, I've never had this issue. Everytime I put it in park, the seat goes back and the steering wheel up so I can exit. Everytime I enter the car and put my foot on the brake, the seat/steering wheel revert to my set positions.

I received my R1S QM AT late 2023 so maybe the bugs were worked out? You'd think the updates would've addressed issues. Luckily *knock on wood* I haven't had any major issues. Just a couple minor ones, which were addressed fairly quickly.

I haven’t had any issues since Dec ‘23 when I purchased my R1S until yesterday when my seat didn’t return to position and I was prompted to preform a calibration. I did so just now and it seems to be back to normal.
