Second Charger at vacation house

I have installed a second charger unit at my vacation home in the mountains but it would appear that, in their wisdom, Rivian did not take this possibility into account and I can't pair my phone with this 2nd charger. I can't delete the app and setup a new account because then I might not be able to drive the car since it is paired to my current app. Don't you just hate sw engineers sometimes?
And FWIW, Rivian support were worthless in diagnosing why the charger does not work. It was a Duhh! moment for me when I realized I had to pair the second charger. It didn't occur to their support guy.

Did you try just closing the App and power cycling your phone?

As for pairing the phone with the vehicle, it is pretty simple, I replaced my phone after getting my R1S and had no issue deleting the old phone and adding my new one.

You should always keep a keycard in your wallet in case you lose your phone or it dies.

Excellent advice here! I have always done this with my Tesla and now with the Rivian. A dead or malfunctioning phone can leave you stranded otherwise.

Sounds like this software problem might lie between the ears. Plenty of people have two chargers working.

If you paid someone to put up the second charger, you need to take the faceplate off and make sure they connected the small wire back. It’s either attached to the face and you connect to the base, or vice versa…I forget.

but this little wire is the make or break of syncing your charger.

24 fraught hours later:
Discovered that there are some absolutely first-class support engineers if you go to the Rivian highway breakdown support line. -it was my concierge guy who was technically useless. :
My stress level was increased by the fact that the calls kept dropping when I went out to the vehicle to conduct one of the many experiments. It was the third guy who pointed out that I should switch off bluetooth before going near the car. That advice should be SOP. They also confirmed that it was not possible to connect a second charger to the phone (why not?)
They also told me that it should still provide power when not paired, which is at it should be, so that 3 hours spent trying to pair was a red herring. They had me take several pictures of the installation and wiring and confirmed that they could not see any installation issues so it may be a faulty unit. Unfortunately they were not empowered to send me a return authorization without the "charger team" giving a final ruling on Monday. This leaves me with a bit of a problem since I can't come up here again (WV mountains) without knowing I can recharge. I have taken the unit off and will return it or throw it away. I certainly can't come back here for more diagnosis of what is likely a failed unit. My current plan is to buy a generic charger,(since I can't pair it anyway) and bring it with me along with the hopefully replaced Rivian unit.
Meanwhile I stand by my comment regarding some) of their s/w designers. For example the "Settings" app disappeared and took me 15 minutes of dicking around to get it to reappear. Still no idea what I did to accomplish this.
Another example of there lack of UI clarity is that my entire problem was made worse by the fact that the 110v charger, which I brought with me just in-case, did not seem to work up here. Imagine how concerning that was! First guess in the light of two failures was that it was the car charging circuit. Discovered quite by accident that it doesn't operate with a GFI outlet but the only indication is that it shows a white light saying it isn't working. Very helpful when you're 50 miles from help.
As someone who bought the car just to drive, I don't want to become an expert in the idiosyncrasies of the s/w and UI. I suspect the early adopters wealthy enough to buy this car are all younger technocrats. I guess that situation will improve as the product matures and more simple car drivers provide feedback (or they will go out of business).

Swipe up from the icon tray. The element they are using to designate there is more here is somewhat common in apps, but still confusing if you aren't expecting it.

Thanks -good to know. I must have done this without realizing. I was probably shown this when I got the buyer-briefing, but there was so much going on it didn't stick.

Always a good idea to have a Nema 14/50 plug installed so in a pinch you can use the mobile charger at 32 amps (7.6 kWh). I did that at my place just for piece of mind.

Edit: also helps to ensure the problem is not with the vehicle.

What do you get when you're paired with a charger?

I have two non-Rivian chargers at my homes and they both charge the vehicle perfectly and I see the progress on the Rivian app. Is there more functionality when paired with a Rivian wall charger?
