As long as you put it tire change mode to turn off air suspension, you should be good right? It also suggest to put it in off-road before the tire mode but I’m not sure that’s necessary.

When you change it to "Tire Change Mode" it'll ask you yo put it in off road first.

You doing it yourself or taking it to a tire shop? I print the attached document and give it to my tire shop when they rotate my tires - they appreciate it and it makes me feel better. I just need to put my Jack Pucks "Remove Cover" stickers on the puck covers and update my photos.

Some tire shops use drive on/drive off lifts for the whole vehicle and then use arms on the lift under the suspension to lift the wheels for taking the wheels off.

In these cases you technically don't need to change the suspension because the vehicle doesn't actually "know" it is off the ground. They do this to avoid the issues all together with dynamic suspension vehicles, pucks, exotic cars, unibodies, etc.

If you are taking it to a place where it isn't obvious they have that kind of equipment and experience, I would make sure you ask about the tire change setting, how they are going to jack it up with pucks, etc.

We’ve created a straightforward video on our new YouTube channel, **JackPucks TV**, to walk you through the basics of prepping your vehicle for tire service.

? **Quick Tip:** No need to use *Off-Road High* mode—simply set your vehicle to the highest setting in **All-Purpose mode**, and you’re good to go!

For those working with a **4-post lift**, here’s a bonus: you can skip tire-change mode altogether.

Check it out and make tire service a breeze!

I'm guessing most tire shops don't have magnetic pucks that fit the Rivians and therefore we really need to purchase these pucks unless we're taking it to a Rivian service center?

The tire place I've been going to for years didn't have the pucks so I actually ordered them before we took delivery of our Rivian in August 2023. The owner's manual does have instructions to "Lift the Vehicle with a Non-Rivian Jack", but why bother? You have to remove some panels to get access to the frame rails, and the pucks are just so easy (and they're currently on sale with free shipping).

My life experiences have shown me that if I'm prepared for a problem (i.e. a flat away from home where I have to go to a random tire place to have it repaired or replaced) then I tend not to have that particular problem. I keep the pucks in the car (my tire place loves that they're magnetic) in case I ever need them. I also have one of the Jack Pucks XL in the car to use with my Big Red 10T bottle jack in case I ever need to plug a tire.

A buddy of mine took delivery of a Tri-Max R1S a couple of weeks ago and didn't know what the pucks were...He's learning, but only had 3 days between ordering and delivery so he's a bit behind the curve compared to many of us who had months (or years) between ordering and delivery to learn everything we could.

I take my Rivian to Americas Tire and since they are close to Rivian service center, they have the pucks.
