InsideEVs got 460 miles of range out of the Silverado, whereas Rivians always fall well short of their range estimates. This article noted an elevation drop while driving, but even when I've been going down in overall elevation in the R1S over long distances (and driving normally) the R1S still falls below the quoted range estimates. Luckily I don't give a rip about range, we have other cars for long distance driving... but this will matter to a lot of folks.

This is why competition is good for the consumer, though. Rivian will find ways to respond. I think they're here for the long haul despite what all the expert traders on the forum have to say about the stock price.
My R1T range estimate is pretty spot on. Maybe an issue with yours?

This is natural. GM has the benefit to respond to rivian and fords leading product. I think ford has some work to do. I don’t know now many people I hear returning their lightnings for gas f150s. I wish I had picked up GM stock rather than F and VW.

Saw one the other day. I didn't know they were on the streets.
It's the same skateboard as the Hummer, so it's not a completely new vehicle. With cells not in short supply and GM being slow in many lines perhaps they will make a lot of vehicles this year.

What I like about the Silverado is that it can hide among ICE pickups. The Hummer is designed to be hated by both greenies and the roll coal guys. GM should have forgotten the Hummer lineage and made a big electric Bronco.

Silverado is the better choice for people who pull trailers, but the position of the charging port sucks for today's reality of fast charging while towing. I would rather stop 50% more than have to drop the trailer once on a trip. Even on trips where I have a bike rack on the hitch will be a big problem for stopping at Tesla stations, etc.
All the new Tesla sites are getting pull through's for trailers the last three sites they opened in Phoenix have them. Most of the GM/Pilot sites are pull through's as well. There are many EA sites where it would be impossible to charge with a trailer attached.

GM Finally announced pricing in Canada for the Silverado RST with 700km range (442 miles). $118,000 canadian.

The R1T Dual motor max pack in Canada with 411 miles (659km) range is $134,500!

Rivian really needs to get their pricing down. A Dual motor base model with standard battery is $110k. That gets you a slower, less capable with MUCH less range (300 miles) for nearly the same price....

I'm not sure exactly how the pricing works out the in the US but seems that GM and Ford and significantly reducing pricing and Rivian keeps going up and up.
I’ve noticed most manufacturers except Rivian and Tesla don’t charge the actual exchange rate to sell into our country - it does skew what makes sense for us financially.

Yes because it's a different marker and we are poor. Especially with our nutso taxes and house prices.

Same with mine (quad), maybe even a little over the estimates when I don’t drive highway. I get around 2.6 mi/kWh commuting city / rural but going 75 on the freeway for a few hundred miles I get around 2.0-2.1. I’m sure if I drove the speed limit it would be much better.
