Solar Eclipse in Bloomington Southern Indiana.

I'm planning on doing a road trip to Normal / Bloomington and watching the full solar eclipse Monday April 8th . Don't have much for plans yet except a cooler a grill and having a good time. wondering if anyone else was planning the same it could be a get together or a fun drive if people from the north want to caravan down as a group of Rivians. Open to ideas comment below.

For those that didn't get to see it in 2017 it was amazing and i'm not going to miss it.

That's Bloomington, IN, btw. The factory is in Normal, IL.

They are pretty much the same city. That's why it's usually called Bloomington/Normal. They are right next to each other.

My son and I did the one back in 2017. We drive about 12 hours to get to Payette Idaho.....it was worth it and this one is supposedly going to be longer than that one.

Make sure you have protective glasses...in fact, go buy a cheap welder mask.

Obviously, we didn't have a Rivian....we drove a Camry. All we packed was a change of clothes and my wife packed us some food....it was only going to be an overnight trip. We stopped and got some snacks as well.

The cool thing (literally and figuratively) is that once it gets to a full eclipse, the temperature drops about 15 degrees and shadows become crystal clear.

My son is flying to Austin to see it this time.....I am staying home......seen one, seem them all!

I went to Bloomington for the last eclipse and planning on going back or trying Indianapolis for this one. Planning on powering my telescope from the Rivian.

Road tripping from SF Bay Area to Fort Worth, TX for this eclipse. Then I'm checking out Monument Valley and Moab, UT. Gonna be a 4K mile road trip!
