My Driver + simply never ever engaged. Every single time it told me it wasn't available no matter where I was.

After four service efforts and two days of analysis by the 'corporate engineering team' they finally decided to replace the roof antenna as one or more of the 'modules' wasn't working.
So to everyone's surprise it was actually a hardware issue, not software.

A worthy mention; the idea of replacing the antenna came up early in the overall process but the service center didn't want to do that yet as prior vehicles with the same or similar issues didn't necessarily fix it.

I hope this helps someone else. And I didn't see anyone post the same issue so apologies if this is a duplicate

I wonder what about it failed. It seems really weird that it knows where you are on the map, but still refuses to engage. I wonder what types of sensors they have in the roof antenna. Did they share any of this information?

Is that a GPS antenna?

Here's the specifics in my work order. I'm under the impression it has several functions and modules for different things. They told me the trim covers are single use and have nothing to do with the driver+ issue in case anyone wonders.

Out of curiosity how many days/weeks did they have the vehicle to do this repair? I see the 4.6hr quoted but they told me today (in fewer words) this was what they thought my issue was and if they confirmed it they would have the truck for a few weeks to months due to the bodywork and repainting needed as a result of "ripping the roof off" to replace the antennas...

Tell me this isn't true?

I want to say they had the truck for 5 days the final visit. Much of it was programming and testing, etc. not actually 'ripping the roof off'.

And in truth, I do not think they removed the 'spoiler' or roof off the top of the truck. I know they tore the whole inside apart to get to the electronics, etc. I can definitely tell you the exterior roof 'spoiler' part is not new if they did take it off. Nor is it repainted. I didn't ask, but I do wonder if the actual shark fin antenna is new or the old one re-used. It did not have any blemishes or markings that stand out. Bottom line, the body work like commentary you note is nothing like what they did to my truck.

Hope this helps.
