Squeaky Door Handles

Has anyone experienced their door handles squeaking when they open? All four of mine started making noise at the same time. For reference we have a 2025 Trimax that is four months old. Has Rivian addressed this on anyone's rig?

My exterior door handles squeak as well, mostly when the temps are cold. During a mobile service call I tried to show the tech and they wouldn’t squeak! The car was in my heated shop at the time and since then I have kind of ignored them, but ever once in a while they irritate me.

My rear Gen 1 inside door handles have started an intermittent squeak one side than the other and never at the same time. Almost like two song birds calling to one another back there....

Mine grumble when they present and retract, I haven't done much about it up to this point.

Mine creak very loudly when they present but mostly when the weather is hot. Mobile service said the handles need to be replaced at a service center so I decided to delay fixing them until I need to go in for more serious service.

I've had my 2025 R1T since December. About a month in, my door handles started squeaking every time they popped out. I was really annoyed and unsure what to do. Fortunately, after a week or so the squeaking stopped. I'm not sure if the weather was particularly cold or humid or anything during that period. Every once in a while they will squeak again, but it's super inconsistent.

I've notice my new Gen 2 Tri does this in warmer weather when sitting in direct sun.

I, too, have a four-month-old Tri, and at least one, if not more, handle has begun to sound terrible. At times, I've thought something went wrong when shifting into drive, but then I've reminded myself that it was just the door handles retracting. Plan to address it at the next needed service.

WD40?

Will continue to monitor and do another appt if it comes back.

Same on mine. They replaced the front door handle but have a mobile service to replace the rear door handle.

I really hope they didn't use regular WD-40. It isn't a lubricant and can damage some paint/plastics.

It might not be the best option (maybe silicone spray is better), but you’re being over dramatic. WD40 is in fact a lubricant and it’s really unlikely to damage anything in this kind of application (to stop noisy door handles). There’s likely no need to run out and start replacing door handles because they squeak

My door handle joints have been filled with way too much grease from the factory. I'll take a picture, but no noise could ever escape that much goop.

Don't count on it yet. I noticed large glops of grease initially after delivery, only now to have noise 4 months later.

All four of mine started squeaking like crazy. Such a premium sound walking up to a $100,000 truck.
