That tends to be a change when apps see a podcast or audio book rather than songs. I wonder if Amazon Music has a bug treating everything as a podcast?

Interesting thought, my other Amazon devices are unaffected, and my Spotify is actually doing the same thing. But my 90 day old gen 2 is horrible with tons of issues so that could be me only.

Same issues here with the button. Now I just say "Alexa next" but I did like the button option. Would be nice for a little clarification.

I think it is great that we finally have the opportunity to skip 30 seconds forward or 30 seconds back, but I want it for podcasts, Spotify and anything else.

That being said, that option is on the screen now with Amazon Music. The steering wheel needs to allow you to either skip forward to the next song or restart the song. I would rather reach for the screen when I want to skip 30 seconds forward or 30 seconds back.

Before I explain, I have done a soft and hard reset and I have also contacted customer support with no immediate fix.

I was sitting in traffic doing nothing but listening to music when all of a sudden the left button on the steering wheel changed from skipping to the next song to fast forwarding or rewinding :30 seconds. I do not know how to revert back to the song skip option.

Did I inadvertently change a setting somewhere? I wasn’t messing around with the settings or messing around with anything on the steering wheel at the time, other than skipping songs. Customer service escalated this to a senior, but they still couldn’t figure it out.

Most of my music is played with Amazon Alexa. Even on the screen, the Skip back and skip forward has been replaced with a fast-forward :30 seconds or rewind :30 seconds. The only way to skip a song now is to actually press the button on the screen below the :30 second fast-forward buttons. It seems like these button icons have moved around on the screen too??

Is there a way to revert back to the song skip option? I didn’t know there was a way to change it.

Same with me can't skip or go back to the song before. Only 30 secs front and back super annoying and I did not touch any settings. Fix this Rivian Please.

Gen 1 R1S. This issue just arose on mine. This is so annoying. How do you report this bug to Rivian? FYI, if you magically hold the button and release it for the exactly perfect amount of time, you can get Amazon Music to skip the song instead of rotating the driver view window tile. I can nail this 1 out of 20 times trying.

Contact customer service. The more people to complain, the better Rivian might fix this.

Just bumping this. Its really dangerous to have to reach to the other side of the dash to skip track while driving.

I agree. I guess you could use the verbal commands but this needs to be fixed asap.

My R1S is going in this week for some small repairs to the wheel hub to fix the “clicking” and this skip issue is on the list too. I’m curious as to what Rivian technicians will say about it once there.

I sat in my garage for like 10 minutes trying to make it skip track with some magic amount of time holding the button and could not make it do it haha. Is there some setting in the Alexa app that might change this back?!

No one seems to know how to fix it yet. I’m wondering if it’s not one of those “rare instances” that’s gonna need an update for soon.

Does anyone know someone on this forum who is part of the public beta testing of software updates? From what I understand those folks have a direct line to the software team at Rivian. This really needs to be fixed ASAP.

I’m guessing the number of Amazon Music users pales in comparison to Apple and Spotify, so likely not at the top of their priority list to fix, unless we raise a stink.
