This issue is driving me crazy. Even if my stereo is muted and/or the volume is at zero it starts playing every time I open the door. Also does it while driving when I end a phone call. Drove about 300 miles today and was feeling like I have the flu and the last thing I wanted was music playing. I was nauseous enough.

I don't understand. Muted? Volume at 0? Why don't you just turn the music off if you don't want to hear it?

You were pushing the left scroll wheel down to mute/turn off?
I might have seen this when streaming from phone. Some phones start playing when they find a BT connection and play the last paused thing.

If you are getting this in other sources, do a reset.

How do you turn it off? I didn’t see any way to do that in the audio page

Well first, what is your music source? FM? TuneIn? Bluetooth? etc.

Yes I have tried muting and setting to zero
With left wheel. I’ll reset tomorrow and see it that fixes the issue. Thanks.

XM. If reset does’t fix I’ll try other sources. So no power off I’m assuming. Just mute?

You should check the camp speaker. It can do bizarre things. It has its own volume control. Just an idea.

I've never used XM. But setting the volume to 0 won't stop the XM data from streaming - it's still continuously downloading and trying to play even if you can't hear it. If the XM app doesn't have an off button, then a workaround would be to change music sources to something that you don't have set up when you want the sound to stop.

volume to zero does work. That’s the problem. Hopefully reset works. Won’t be a huge issue when I feel normal again.

I think button function varies between mute, power and pause depending on the service

Just another thought...
If you are driving and the Rivian is giving you audio directions like "in 500 ft, turn right" and you use the left wheel to scroll down, you'll be lowering the volume of directions, but that is separate from the volume of your music. I doubt that is your issue, but it caused me some confusion while driving.

Thanks for all the help guys. Resetting the screen fixed the volume issue. For anyone reading this in the future here are some things I discovered (on our G2)

- Only audio source that has a power icon on the screen is FM/AM radio

- Pressing the left scroll button pauses Spotify and XM streaming (probably all streaming sources)

- When entering the truck XM will automatically start playing the source at the previous volume (if you had it at zero and the volume goes up automatically reboot the screen)

- When entering the truck Spotify will stay paused if it was paused when the truck was turned off

Pretty sure I will will be rebooting the truck every couple weeks. Even my MacBook needs a reboot every now and then.
