I own a 2022 Launch Edition Rivian R1T and have been experiencing persistent connectivity issues with streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music) since November 2024. Every morning, when I get into my truck, the system displays “no internet connection.” This also happens after the truck has been parked for long periods (8+ hours).

For over a year, I had no issues—nothing about my environment, home, or commute has changed. The truck is connected to Wi-Fi at home, but that doesn’t resolve the problem. Even when I have a full LTE signal, it takes 10–15 minutes of driving before the connection restores.

Two weeks ago, I experienced this after my truck sat for 10 hours at the office. Despite full LTE bars, I had no internet access. Frustrated, I took it to the service center, but after three days and multiple explanations of the issue, the technicians couldn’t find a solution. They told me to bring it back if it continued—despite my repeated statements that it happens every night.

At this point, I’m beyond frustrated and even considered selling the truck just to avoid dealing with this ongoing problem. I picked the truck up yesterday and this is a picture from my commute this morning.

I notice this sometimes as well, not to the same degree. It usually correlates with poor cell service, regardless of what the "bars" tell you on the display. Sometimes those bars don't represent the actual signal strength.

When it happens I usually do the infotainment reset holding the two outer buttons on the steering wheel. The only thing that sucks about Rivian (which isn't the case with Tesla), is that you have to be in park to do that reset. That kickstarts it and it in turn grabs the cell signal.

Mine will do that occasionally when starting out in the morning. The behavior I generally is when leaving my home WiFi, being out of range of WiFi, kind of grabbing it again (as the driveway loops back toward the house), and then leaving WiFi completely. When this happens it'll sometimes take a few moments to get the signal back on LTE.

It doesn't do this all the time.

Similar issue with me, although not to the same extent.. 2022 R1T. Three or four times this year, streaming services have shut off, sometimes in the middle of a drive. Maps also went blank, with no street names and no navigation possible. Even resetting the infotainment didn't resolve the issue.

It's only happened a few times, and it resolves itself after 10-15 minutes, but still, it is a pain. And if it happens as much as it happens to you, I would be a lot more irritated, that's for sure.

Tune-In thinks I'm in Normal, IL.

My "local" blackout restrictions and commercials are applicable to a Chicagoland location.

Anyone else notice this?

Are you using the native apps? Do you have a Connect+ subscription?

Or are you streaming from your phone to Rivian via bluetooth?

I am using the native apps. I do have the Connect+ subscription. Streaming with my phone always works.

I have performed the soft and hard reset multiple times. I really do not think it is a LTE connectivity issue. For more than a year this was not an issue. It all started in November.

I would put in a ticket. That doesn't sound right at all, especially if you have good strong signal. There was an instance of poor signal in my neighborhood but it always read zero bars. This was our issue:

Tuesday I picked it up from the service center after they had the truck for 4 days. They told me they could not replicate the issue. The next day I took the picture that is in my original post.
