Subtle but consistent cabin noise in R2?

Nice vehicle, would have liked to get the LG to match my R1S but was over ruled since it is not my primary vehicle.

We just picked up our R2 yesterday, not many miles on it but I do not hear the noise.

How hot and humid is it there? I know My R1S I can hear the vehicle trying to cool the batteries when it is over 90 degrees. Gets very loud as the ambient temps go past 103 degrees.

It’s only in the low 80s now but will be in the desert next week with temps in triple digits, I’ll listen for it when I’m out there.

It’s quite pleasant today- low 70s and low humidity. We’ll see if temperatures affect the noise when it eventually gets hot again.

Or maybe I’ll stop at a supercharger later to see if that makes a difference in the sound

I haven't noticed...but then I almost always have HVAC on and the radio going. I'll have to shut everything off and listen when I hop in the car today.

I admit I was questioning my color choice in between ordering and delivery but I have no regrets now that I have it.

It's way shinier than the R1 version — I'm regretting not going with it, honestly.

Interesting, hadn’t thought of that possibility. But I hear the sound even when the vehicle is in park and I assume the pedestrian alert shouldn’t be playing in that case.

I would guess likely the wireless phone charger, there is a fan to mitigate some of the heat buildup under the pad.

If your phone is on it while driving, try not putting it there and see if the noise persists. Keep in mind, the fan will run if the pad is warm, so pulling off your phone, may not immediately stop it from running. Best time to test would be upon entering the vehicle.

I’ll double check but I believe the noise starts within a few seconds of entering a cold car even before I put my phone on the pad.

The heat pump I believe is forward of the dash, somewhat higher up..I think front screen, straight forward? A full system reboot would halt any functional device for at least 10-30 seconds..

The wireless charging base is a good idea though, if there is indeed a fan there.

Not sure if present in R2: the R1 the Fan over the cabin temperature sensor in the steering column sometimes makes a bit of noise, and there have been a few cases of bad bearings etc that have been replaced.

It’s easy NOT to notice it if there’s music or AC or a window is open.
