Tailgate Strut Cracked

Noticed the strut that controls the lowering of the tailgate is cracked/separating. I say cracked, but it is probably just a cosmetic shield or covering for the actual strut but still not how it was when it left the factory. Added it to my ATL SC appointment for April 3 for some other warranty items. Anyone experienced this?

I think you’re right and it is just the cover for the strut and it is separating where the edges meet.

Is there an easy way to add an additional item to your existing service appointment? Only option I see in the app is to "contact customer service".

Did you look at the other strut? It looks like a protective boot to prevent scratches on the stanchion.

I would call Rivian5, they should be able to add an item.
