Never. It's now Kick Turn.

I don't mean this as a knock to anyone, but I always wonder: What is the fuss about "tank turn"? I would rather Rivian spend their time on more practical things. I wished they had never entertained this idea. It's such a waste of time with no real bang for the buck....IMHO. Again, not slamming anyone.

"Tank turn" is a gimmick for marketing.

"Kick turn" may actually have some usefulness.

My old Mustang had kick turn. Gas it and pop the clutch and have the wheel turned. Rears would spin and Mustang would do an instant U-turn.

I heard 9/2025 as well.

Plenty of loose dirt roads in the metro Phoenix Sonoran desert area. I’ll be sure to test it out (with videos) once enabled.

Have to ask does Gen 2 have the mechanical capabilities to perform a tank turn. I know Gen 1 does not.

Nope. Just spins the motors in opposite directions.

my understanding is that the car will not perform the spin if it meets a certain level of resistance from the road, which is probably quite low. i’m actually looking forward to trying this on ice/snow covered streets in the winter to avoid three point turns.
